Here's a sneak peek at Disneyland's new 'Guardians of the Galaxy' ride.

0
0

On Tuesday, Disneyland unveiled their plans for the new ride that will replace the iconic Tower of Terror. Guardians of the Galaxy–Mission: Breakout! is set to make its debut in September 2017, replacing the Twilight Zone-themed park favorite that will close for good on January 2.

The exterior of the ride is supposed to be The Collector's warehouse, but let's just call a spade a spade—this new ride looks like Tower of Terror with a bunch of pipes covering it.

The new ride will have a free-fall similar to the Tower of Terror, and riders will get a "randomized ride experience," so you never know which adventure you will get. Hm, another ride used to do that. What was it again? Oh yeah, the Tower of Terror.

The Tower of Terror has been a Disneyland fixture since it opened in 2004. As of now, the Tower of Terror in Disney World is not in jeopardy of being replaced or dressed up as something else.

This is what happened when some sleazy producer asked Lena Dunham to convince an actress to get naked for him.

In an essay for Lenny Letter called "Our Voices Are Our Superpower," Girls co-show runner Jenni Konner recalled an instance where a producer on another show tried to get Dunham to help him convince an actress to "show her tits, or at least some vag" on TV.

Just because Lena Dunham likes to show her boobies on TV doesn't mean that she thinks everyone should want to show theirs.

The upsetting exchange started when he showed Lena a picture on his phone of "a mutual friend with a cock next to her face, ostensibly a still from his TV show but shown at a completely inappropriate time.” Not surprisingly, their subsequent conversation was disturbing to say the least.

From here things really started to devolve. The director asked Lena to have dinner alone the following night with an actress on the show he works on. Not because he thought they should meet, but because he wanted Lena to persuade the actress to "show her tits, or at least some vag" on TV. Surely Lena could make a compelling argument. After all, he continued, "You would show anything. Even your asshole.

Woooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwww. Ew.

Look, it's no secret that Dunham is a problematic and polarizing figure, but to shame her because she won't convince other women to do something they're uncomfortable with is inexcusable on the producer's part.

Famous actress Dakota Johnson celebrated her birthday famously by hanging out with a couple key member's of Taylor Swift's willowy girl gang, model Cara Delevingne and T-Swift herself. Swift Facetimed in, because it's 2016 people. If all your friends are physically in the same room you're doing it wrong.

Dad finds best way to give wife a break while she's breastfeeding in Target.

Parents Christine Newman Jones and Jayme Earlywine have gone viral with a photo posted by Facebook group Breastfeeding Mama Talk, where it's gotten 10,000 likes. Dads might be at a loss as to how they can help their partners breastfeed a baby while not having any boobs and/or milk, but this couple came up with a pretty good system: when the baby gets hungry while they're shopping, mom sits in the cart, baby nurses, and dad pushes them both in the cart.

How daddies can be part of the feeding process if their baby is breastfed..."When you've been in the target toy section...

Posted by Breastfeeding Mama Talk on Sunday, October 2, 2016

The caption reads:

How daddies can be part of the feeding process if their baby is breastfed...
"When you've been in the target toy section for 45 minutes with your 10 year old birthday girl and the 15 month old wants to nurse you take their seat and nurse her while the hubs pushes you around

Of course, Facebook being what it is, plenty of people posted criticism of the mom for breastfeeding in public, or not being covered up enough, or whatever it is they find wrong with a mother feeding her child. However, the vast majority of the comments were positive, with people praising the couple's creativity.

Neighbor with thin walls posts savage note to the 'a**hole' who yells at his girlfriend.

Apparently tired of falling asleep to the sound of verbal abuse, someone posted, in what appears to be a college dorm, a note for their neighbor's "asshole" boyfriend to find. Whether the guy saw it or not, the rest of the world did. Cue the sound of one hundred hand clapping emojis.

To the guy on this floor who yells at his girlfriend:

1. Everyone can hear you.

2. You sound like an asshole.

3. No one deserves to be talked to like that.

4. Stop it.

-Thanks,

A Neighbor

The note has been posted to the internet several times over the years, and resurfaced today on Reddit for your endless amusement.

Several other neighbors even signed the note, and one added a sickly sweet pink Post-it note to pile on this guy's well-deserved shamefest.

To the girlfriend of that asshole: You don't need to put up with that stuff, girl.

This is community policing in its most beautifully anonymous, delightfully passive-aggressive form. Hopefully that couple broke up immediately.

Tori Spelling is pregnant with her fifth child.

According to People, Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott are expecting their fifth child together.

Spelling and McDermott have been married for 10 years and already have a brood of whimsically named children together— Liam, 9, Stella, 8, Hattie, 4, and Finn, 4. McDermott also has an 18-year-old son, Jack, from a previous marriage.

Just when she thought she was done changing diapers.

McDermott and Spelling have a been through their fair share of hard times in the past couple of years, including being thousands of dollars in debt and unable to escape rumors of Dean's infidelity.

Still, Spelling insists that this surprise pregnancy came just at the right time.

This baby happened at the best time. Nothing is ever perfect, but I’m so madly in love with my husband and with our kids. The idea of adding to that is such a blessing.

Congrats on the baby! Sorry about the diapers.

#ThatMexicanThing is the most important hashtag to come from the VP debate.

0

Last night at the VP debates, Sen. Tim Kaine attempted to hold Gov. Mike Pence accountable for Trump's infamous statement that Mexicans were rapists. Annoyed at having to defend his running mate, Pence broke through his 1950's stone shell and responded, "you whipped out that Mexican thing again."

The country went deaf from the sound of everyone gasping all at once. Pence's response was so absurdly dismissive that once the Americans caught their breath, they raced to Twitter and birthed the hashtag #ThatMexicanThing.

It went viral instantly, inciting a flood of anecdotes about immigration to the US.

More than just a defense of heritage, the hashtag became call for Latino voters to show up to the polls.

"That Mexican Thing" has now become a battle-cry inspiring multiple websites. ThatMexicanThing.org leads to a website that helps voters register and keeps them informed.

And ThatMexicanThing.com? It goes straight to Hillary's wesbsite.

The 10 weirdest YouTube videos for kids I've accidentally watched with my son.

0
0

YouTube is full of children's programming, both good and bad, and as any parent knows, your child is going to become addicted to the bad stuff. Despite your best intentions, you will find yourself relying on these videos at 2 a.m. when you need a distraction to get your sick kid to take a dose of Tylenol. You'll already be weeping from a lack of sleep, but if you weren't, these 10 weird YouTube videos that I have watched will definitely make you cry:

1. Ryan's Toys Review

On this extremely popular channel, you can watch toddler Ryan play with a variety of toys and be prompted by his mom behind the camera to rate them (spoiler: he likes them). Granted, Ryan is cute, but it's slightly disturbing that my child would rather watch a stranger play with toys than play with his own toys.

2. Thomas Wooden Railway

If your kid's a true trainiac, you may have stumbled across Thomas Wooden Railway Collection, where a man shows off every single one of his hundreds of Thomas and Company trains. Perfect for people who are obsessive-compulsive toddlers.

3. Hulyan Maya

Hulyan Maya is the poor man's Ryan's Toys Review. Even though the basic format of their show (they play with toys, you watch) is the same, they're missing a certain je ne sais quois that you want in your random child playing with toys videos.

4. Just4fun290

If you're thinking to yourself, Hey, these kids playing with toys are too exciting— give me an adult slowly taking toys out of their boxes, then this is for you. Just4fun290 is one of many "unboxing" channels that simply involves taking toys out of their boxes and describing them. Sound fascinating? You may be under 36 months old.

5. Little Baby Bum

If you're less interested in quality, and more interested in having your kid shut up for a particular number of minutes, you may want to try Little Baby Bum. It's a series of nursery rhyme cartoons sung with an indeterminate accent. The different videos are distinguished by length: 71 minutes, 55 minutes, 34 minutes, and, of course, two hours—for days when AAP guidelines on watching TV can f*ck themselves.

6. CoasterFan2105

If you're looking for something a little more high-class, try CoasterFan2105. I don't know who this man is, but he appears to have a genuine love for model trains, and makes videos that are compilations of both stop motion toy trains and real footage of actual trains. The soothing whistles and chug-chugging are highly preferable to hearing "Wheels on the Bus" another effing time.

7. ToyTrains4u

For the kid who loves fanfic despite probably not knowing that term, there's ToyTrains4u, which brings together all of the annoying characters from every children's program—Minions, Thomas, Peppa Pig—in narrated train adventures.

8. Finger Family TV

Now we're veering into Indian YouTube channels, and things are gonna get trippy. Did anyone ask for the Finger Family TV channel? It's basically the finger family song (already the creepiest and worst nursery rhyme ever), sung with every possible animal. There's ostriches with human legs. It's terrifying. No child should be subjected to this.

9. SUPER KiiDZ TV

Oh, you love the finger family song? You want more finger family? Try and stomach this one, which (probably illegally) co-opts the appearances of the characters from Disney's Frozen, and forces them to dance atop some person's hand while an Indian woman sings lyrics that have absolutely nothing to do with Frozen.

10. Learn Rhymes

Here's what happens when you clone all the characters from Frozen and have them dance in robotic unison to "Ten Little Indians," in case you were wondering.

Bonus: Learn Rhymes also makes a different frightening Frozen animation featuring unsmiling Anna and Elsa dancing with their younger selves to Little Miss Muffet. Not gonna lie, they look pissed that they've been cursed by a witch or whatever happened to make them do this.

Thank God for PBS Kids.

Fox News jam-packed almost every offensive Asian stereotype into a quick 5 minutes.

0
0

While Fox News being racist isn't exactly news, Jesse Watters of The O'Reilly Factortook the horror show to the streets with a terrible segment in Chinatown. Attempting to relate his journey to the debate somehow, Watters went to meet some real Chinese people in the flesh, excited to giggle about their accents and ridicule them with Vince Vaughn reaction shots for not knowing English.

He comes right out of the gate with saying "Am I supposed to bow to say hello?" to two women on the street, before accusing a vendor of selling stolen goods.

Watters tried to make Asians look dumb, but mostly succeeded in making himself look stupid.

He attempts to do karate, despite the fact that it is Japanese and not Chinese, and makes a super-dumb dick joke to an herbalist.

Being overtly racist won't get Watters fired. At Fox News, it'll get him promoted.

Dog really, really doesn't like when his best friend plays dead.

Archie the dog really, really, really doesn't like it when his best friend Jack (also a dog) plays dead. Jack, on the other hand, seems to think the whole thing is a hilarious joke.

The pups' owner Sam posted a video to Twitter of the two of them with the caption, "Jack has discovered that by playing dead he can scare the shit out of Archie."

Poor Archie. He's so concerned about the well-being of his friend who is TOTALLY MESSING WITH HIM. Jack is such a troll! (A very cute troll, but a troll nonetheless.)

Christian mom reciting the words to a rap song while crying has to be seen to be believed.

0
0

There's not much information available about this video, other than what the mom who made it tells us, which is mainly that she's Christian, and she's very upset about the lyrics to a song called "Norf Norf" by a rapper named Vince Staples.

So upset that she spends a good portion of the video reciting the words to the song and straight up bawling.

Obviously she hasn't listened to a lot of rap in her life (surprise!) because her mind has been blown, and not in a good way.

She says she couldn't believe what she was hearing, and she is definitely not making that up. She's 100 percent incredulous. She's infuriated, as a mom, that "this is what our youth is being subjected to." (Mind you, she's talking about the song lyrics, not so much the reality behind them.)

This is the main chorus: "I ain't never ran from nothin' but the police/from the city where the skinny carry strong heat/Norfside, Long Beach, Norfside, Long Beach." So let's just encourage kids to run from the police. Because that's okay, right? We wonder why this society is so messed up, listen to the music.

What with so many unarmed black men getting shot by cops, it seems unlikely that the music is what's messing society up. Could the music, actually, be a reaction to the realities of society? This mom, clearly, doesn't think like that.

Here's the song, in case you have no idea what any of this is about, even after listening to her moving recreation of it.

Mom's hilarious 'get well' drawing from her daughter is almost worth getting sick in the first place.

0
0

While doctors are using boring old medicine to help Mom and redditor Trogdor_a_Burninator who is sick in the hospital with pancreatitis, her daughter created a "get well" drawing with this more holistic approach.

All you need is love, and maybe some serious antibiotics.

I don't know why your pancreas hates you. Just wait while the other organs teach it how to love you again. Don't worry, it's a quick learner. Love, Tabatha

What a lucky mom to have so many ways to tackle this problem, and especially to have a daughter that loves her even after she named her Tabatha.

Is it dangerous to hold in your urine?

0
0

The average adult pees 4 to 6 times a day. If that sounds like a lot to you, you're probably not peeing enough, which is a shame because your bladder is a disgusting swamp hole that needs to be flushed out on the regular. This informative and pun-filled video by DNews makes a great case to release the pee.

Basically, once won't hurt you, but repeatedly holding it in means you're at risk for either a UTI or a condition where you can never get rid of all your pee at once, which sounds gross. The less trips to the bathroom the better.

Most interesting in this video, though, is for some reason your bladder can hold twice as much urine when you sleep. I am literally not a scientist, but I'm pretty sure this could work as a medical excuse to sleep all day.

Instagram-famous Frenchwoman was secretly making a PSA about drinking.

The profile culminates in a video, that shows how "liking" someone's drinking could actually be enabling someone's problem.

There's also a mini-PSA within the PSA about how easy it is to fake an Instagram account.

But if you're having trouble telling whether someone is suffering from addiction or is just trying to seem fancy, BETC creative director Stéphane Xiberras has a tell: "Sometimes it seems like in this era, the more people stage their ideal life on social media, the more that serves to hide a not-so-ideal reality."

Comedian Jordan Peele made a horror movie and the trailer alone is absolutely terrifying.

0
0

Jordan Peele, one half of the comedy duoKey & Peele, usually makes you laugh until you cry—but Get Out, his new horror movie, might just make you pee your pants out of fear.

Judging by the trailer, Get Out seems to be about a couple (played by Daniel Kaluuya and Allison Williams, respectfully), who take a trip to the very white suburbs to meet Williams' character's parents for the first time. From there, Kaluuya's character seems to get trapped in a racially charged nightmare that somehow results in Allison Williams shooting a gun and a freaking deer skeleton coming to life.

Admittedly, for the first 30 seconds of the trailer I was unsure if this was just some very on-the-nose joke Peele was making about the horrors of racism, but it becomes apparent very quickly that this film is the real deal and is intended to be taken seriously.

Mainstream horror films rarely take on the topic of race, and Get Out appears to be tackling the subject head on.

Some dude mansplained computer science to a computer science professor. She wasn't having it.

University of Maryland computer science professor Jen Golbeck tried to tweet a basic gripe about her field of expertise on Tuesday, forgetting that it's never safe to express any kind of opinion on the internet.

Of course, some random dude was waiting, hunched over his keyboard, to mansplain her own business to her.

So Golbeck rolled her eyes at the clown, putting him on blast in front of the entire internet.

Professor Golbeck's tweet has gone viral, because nobody can believe this dude actually assumed a computer science professor didn't know Java. (That's basic stuff, man.) Her tweet has been retweeted over 8,000 times, and received more than 17,000 favorites.

Although Golbeck forgot a rule of the internet, this Reenaers character forgot two:

1) No one likes a mansplainer.
2) Java is a pain in the ass.

Normally we'd say she dropped the mic on him, but in this case, she gave him more of a System.exit(0).
