'Vogue' faces backlash after using the 'safety pin' solidarity trend to sell expensive clothes.

Have you seen a lot of people (other than punks) wearing safety pins on their clothes lately and wondered what it's for? Well, lucky for you, Vogue has posted a (ridiculously tone-deaf) fashion spread explaining the political statement on their website, and showing how you can co-opt the trend by spending a shit-ton of money on expensive clothing.

In their post (the url for which includes the words Gucci and Marc Jacobs, but not, say, solidarity or acceptance), the fashion authority explains that the safety pin trend started in the U.K. to signal support for people who felt threatened by Brexit. Now it's being used in the U.S. in a similar way—as a sign to everybody that the wearer is a "safe place" for anyone who might feel threatened after the election of Donald Trump (so basically everyone except straight white men).

Okay, got it. So…just attach a safety pin to your shirt or jacket, right? I mean, you COULD do that, or as Voguesuggests,

You can easily fasten any safety pin to your favorite T-shirt or jacket, but there are also dozens of ready-made, sequin-embellished pieces on the market right now, from punk-ish jewelry to pinned-together dresses. Shop them all in the slideshow above, then put your money where your mouth is and take real action against the forces of hate.

Of course! "Real action," like spending a massive amount of money on items that already have safety pins on them. The more you spend, the more you care, right? Why donate your money to important causes that might benefit other humans when you can drop a two grand on a dress for yourself?

Show your support for immigrants with this $1,995 dress.

Maybe you're more of a shirt person. How about this black sweatshirt, for a mere $569?

14 safety pins! So much safety for others!

Or, hey, why use a regular old safety pin when you can get a gold one encrusted with diamonds?

How much did your safety pin cost? Oh, mine was $1,095.

As you might expect, people on Twitter did not take too kindly to this completely inappropriate marketing ploy.

Great job, Vogue! Looking forward to your post about how you can show your support for animal rights by buying expensive leather accessories with pictures of endangered species on them.

Hillary Clinton is as sad as you are, but managed to get out of bed to make a great speech.

In her first speech since conceding (and winning the popular vote by over two million), Hillary Clinton called on America not to give up on the good fight.

Clinton emerged from the woods to speak at a Washington, D.C. event for the Children Defense Fund, where she got her start as an intern over 40 years ago.

“Coming here tonight wasn’t the easiest for me,” she said. “There have been a few times this past week that all I wanted to curl up with a good book, or our dogs, and never leave the house again.” (Same, and I didn't spend my whole life gearing up for what I thought would be my destiny.)

Poised but vulnerable, you couldn't help but want to give her a hug. Clinton expressed how disappointed she is in the election results, without explicitly saying the T-word (Tr*mp).

The Democratic nominee for president reiterated what she said in her concession speech: The campaign was about more than just her, it was about resisting fascism and making sure Mr. T doesn't end the American experiment. Transcription viaSlate:

I know many of you are deeply disappointed about the results of the election. I am, too. More than I can ever express. But as I said last week, our campaign was never about one person or even one election, it was about the country we love and about building an America that is hopeful, inclusive, and big-hearted.

I know this isn’t easy. I know that over the past week a lot of people have asked themselves whether America was the country we thought it was. The divisions laid bare by this election run deep. But please listen to me when I say this: America is worth it. Our children our worth it. Believe in our country; fight for our values; and never ever give up. Because over the past two years I’ve met so many people who have reaffirmed my faith in our country …

TL;DR, never give up. Stay engaged. Especially not now, when the vulnerable might need us most.

You don't get to be the daughter of South Park creator Trey Parker without saying a few expletives into a microphone before starting kindergarten. In these behind-the-scenes videos taken by Parker's wife, Boogie, you can see their 3-year-old daughter Betty doing some voiceover work for the show with some help from her dear ol' dad.

At first, she struggles with the line, "What's goin' on, Dad?" But when it comes to the second line, "Daddy called you a pussy," Betty totally nailed it. Hey, if you aren't offended by the President-Elect saying it, don't be offended by a toddler saying it.

Betty was providing the voice for Ike Broflovski, Kyle's adopted Canadian younger brother. Over the years, many people have voiced Ike, including South Park co-creator Matt Stone, Bill Hader, and various children of staff members.

Here is Trey Parker showing his kid how she sounds paired up with the animation. Even she is in disbelief with how well she did.

'The Little Mermaid' directors try their best to tuck that weird erection rumor away forever.

There's a scene in TheLittle Mermaidwhen (spoiler alert!), Ursula in disguise is about to marry Prince Eric, who is obviously destined to end up with Ariel. All that intrigue apparently gets the officiating priest pretty excited, because if you watch his pants, there's some bizarre movement in the crotch area. Or, as the Daily Beast puts it, "he supposedly pops an erection."

This moment has been well documented in "dirty moments in Disney history" lore since the movie came out in 1989. So recently, on a promotional tour for their new Disney picture, Moana, the directors of The Little Mermaid attempted to clear up the controversy forever.

Said Ron Clements to the Huffington Post: "It's a misunderstanding. Honestly, we were there, so we know."

Of course he would say that though, wouldn't he? But he has more explanation, saying that "the minister has knobby knees."

Knees. Right.

"He was designed with knobby knees by animator Tom Sito," said Clements, and he "was not thinking of anything other than this slightly weirdly designed character. That was never the intention."

Co-director John Musker added: "[His knees] show other times in the movie that you can see clearly."

Welp, you can watch the questionable scene in slow-motion, below. If you keep in mind the "knobby knees" theory, it sort of makes sense.

On November 11, a woman in Texas named Natalie Woods, responded to hate with a gesture of kindness when she paid a homophobic family's restaurant tab. Then she posted a picture of the check and the comments she added to it on Facebook.
The caption she posted on Facebook along with the picture, "Bought dinner for the strangers behind me talking about their 'awful, gay, nephew, that they need to pray for.'"

On the check, Woods wrote:

Happy holidays from the very gay, very liberal table sitting next to you. Jesus made me this way. P.S. Be accepting of your family.

Her post is now going viral, because it's such a nice gesture from someone whom that family presumably doesn't like very much.

On Thursday, Woods posted a follow-up on Facebook, writing,

I didn't pay for anyone's mortgage or name my first born after them, I simply bought their dinner and wrote a message of love and truth. I don't know whyyyyyyyyyyyyy this is blowing up, but if it inspires kindness or compassion in others, cool. Upworthy contacted me and Chanel 11 is coming to interview me at 3, then Fox at 5. Stanley Kubrick's daughter wants people to boycott the Dr. Phil special on Shelley Duvall.

Stanley Kubrick's daughter Vivian Kubrick is calling on the masses to boycott Dr. Phil's special with Shelley Duvall that is set to air Friday.

In a Tweet directed at Dr. Phil McGraw, The Shining director's daughter wrote "Your exploitive use of Shelly Duvall is a form of LURID ENTERTAINMENT and is shameful" before encouraging viewers to skip tomorrow's episode.

In another tweet, Vivian argues that given Shelley's current state of mind, she couldn't truly consent to the interview in the first place.

In a disturbing promo for the episode, an unrecognizable Shelley Duvall spoke to Dr. Phil about believing that her Popeye costar Robin Williams is a shape-shifter and that the Sheriff of Nottingham is threatening her before confessing, "I'm very sick. I need help."

Duvall's most famous role was playing the often hysterical Wendy Torrance in the 1980 film The Shining directed by Stanley Kubrick.

Kubrick was widely known to be abusive toward Duvall while filming The Shining, even causing the actress so much turmoil that she began pulling out clumps of her own hair. According to Movie Pilot, Kubrick forbade the cast and crew of the film to interact with Duvall at all over the year-long shooting of the movie. Reports say she would cry over 12 hours every single day. The abuse of Duvall is heavily discussed in the documentary Making 'The Shining,' directed by Vivian Kubrick herself.

Although many were quick to remind Vivian of her father's abusive past, it is important to remember that Vivian is not responsible for the actions of her father, nor does she condone them. She is now trying to salvage what is left of the former star through stopping further abuse at the hands of men who exploit her.

Jon Stewart gives America some much needed post-election comfort in 'CBS This Morning' interview.

Jon Stewart is one of America's most beloved political comedians (and a personal hero of this author's). Comedy fans everywhere greatly missed his hilarious political insights during the particularly divisive presidential campaigns our country was just dragged through. Sure, we got some commentary from him when he dropped by Colbertand when he performed at Stand Up For Heroes, but it wasn't the same as having him behind the desk of TheDaily Show four nights a week. Luckily, Stewart was able to talk about the election results when he stopped by CBS This Morning to promote his new book, The Daily Show: An Oral History.

In a conversation with Charlie Rose, an uncharacteristically serious Stewart reflected on what a Trump presidency will mean for America and the hypocrisy that exists in this country on both sides of the aisle. I think what he says will bring America (or at least me) some much needed post-election comfort.

Even if you don't see eye-to-eye with him politically, we can all agree that Jon Stewart is insanely smart, right?

Jon, if you're reading this: First of all, hi. Big fan. Can I give you a hug? Too much too soon? Okay, nevermind. It's cool. Moving on. Look, I know you're not interested in running for office, but I'm just saying, you'd have my vote.

Let's all listen to Jon and be good to each other out there, okay?

Here's what movie star Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson was doing exactly 20-years-ago.

You love The Rock. And while you probably love Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson for his subsequent movie career or the bulge he showed off with Kevin Hart, just a brief 20-years-ago he was playing pretend in the WWE for the first time ever.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=43&v=QNtW3IDUobI

20-years-ago to this date, November 17, 1996, The Rock first showed off his rippling muscles to the masses at Madison Square Garden: and ripple they did, for The Rock has always been more like a river of pectorals and biceps.

After getting the living sh*t slapped out of him by Jerry "The King" Lawler (what happened to him? did he eventually star in Jumanjiwith Kevin Hart? no?) and several other silly villains, the Rock started to hold his own a bit.

Eventually, he got in so many punches that he became the star of Baywatch with Zac Efron.

What a year its been for former stars of professional wrestling.

Grandma's Thanksgiving text goes to the wrong person, then they both just roll with it.

In a hilarious exchange that's going big-time viral on Twitter, a woman texted a Thanksgiving invitation to someone she thought was her grandson. It turned out the person she reached wasn't her grandson, but her invitation remained open anyway, for basically the cutest reason ever.

According to the Huffington Post, the woman, whose name is Wanda, must have entered the wrong number, because the person she reached was actually Jamal Hinton, a 17-year-old from Chandler, AZ.

Hinton asked the woman to send him a picture (not a nude, don't worry), and he sent one back, and it became clear that she had not reached who she thought she had.

At that point, Hinton, in typical teenage fashion, asked Wanda he could still come anyway, and Wanda's response will make you want to call your grandmother immediately (assuming she's not dead or a horrible person).

THAT'S WHAT GRANDMAS DO…FEED EVERY ONE! With a little slice of cake emoji even! It's what Thanksgiving is all about.

Hinton's friend Ronald posted screenshots of the exchange on Twitter, where it quickly blew up, getting almost 200,000 retweets and 400,000 like in just two days.

But better than all that is the fact that the following day, Hinton, who lives not far from Wanda, went over to meet the world's most generous grandma in person. He told the Huffington Post, "She was really nice! A very funny, sweet lady." And yes, he's going to her place for Thanksgiving, and probably bringing a pumpkin pie, too. One question remains, though—is Ronald invited?

Michelle Obama and Kate Middleton are all about 'organic Botox,' whatever that is.

With all the official state business they've had to attend to, Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton and First Lady Michelle Obama have spent a fair amount of time together. So it's no surprise that they've forged a friendship and give each other beauty tips. Apparently, they're both super into a type of "organic Botox" right now, whatever that means.

The First Lady's makeup artist Carl Ray recently said that Kate recommended the lotion to Michelle. Though it's "comparable" to Botox, Biotulin is used as a lotion instead of being injected into the face, and doesn't cause any numbing or facial restriction. It contains a local anesthetic that's extracted from a plant, and supposedly reduces muscle contractions and relaxes facial features around the eyes. It apparently makes skin visibly firmer in one hour and its effects last for a full day.

This special fancy organic Botox cream sounds a little too fancy for me personally, but I love the image of Kate Middleton and Michelle Obama gabbing about their beauty routines. Lady friendships are important, even for awesome powerful world-changing ladies.

Matt LeBlanc's daughter is not impressed by his Taylor Swift concert cameo.

Like any good celebrity father should, Matt LeBlanc, of Friends and Top Gear fame, brought his daughter to a Taylor Swift concert last year. And, being famous and all, he was able to take her backstage at the Los Angeles Staples Center to meet the terrifying platinum (that refers to both her hair and her record sales) pop mega-star. What LeBlanc probably didn't expect was that Swift would ask him to come out on stage.

He told the story last night on Conan, explaining that his daughter and Chris Rock's two daughters both got to meet Swift before she approached the two actors to ask a favor. And it's when Taylor Swift asks you for a favor that you need to be afraid. Because no one betrays Taylor Swift and gets off scot-free.

Swift explained that during her show she was going to introduce the "number one male model in the world" who is featured in one of her videos, and thought it would be "funny" to then have LeBlanc and Rock come out as the "number two and number three male models in the world." The joke being: Taylor thinks it's humorous that these two dads are clearly not models.

Surely fearing the chart-topping revenge hit that would result if they declined, LeBlanc and Rock agreed to the bit and strutted down the catwalk with as much enthusiasm as they could muster for two dads completely unprepared for a stage appearance.

And if that wasn't embarrassing enough, when LeBlanc asked his daughter what she thought of his stage appearance the next day, hoping for some cool dad points, she told him she thought his walk was "cheesy." Man, teen girls are ruthless.

Amazon is lowering the price of Prime for one day only.

Good news: On Friday, November 18, Amazon will be offering its Prime subscription service at $79 for new members, a 20% discount from the usual annual fee of $99. The offering is for a one year subscription only.

Why are they doing this, you ask? Is it because we're all having a bad year and we could use a treat? It would be nice if that was the case. But Amazon has a much bigger scheme cooking. Simultaneous with the promotion, the largest e-commerce site in the world will also be releasing a new Amazon Original series, The Grand Tour. The series, hosted by the guys you may remember from Top Gear, follows them on an automotive adventure around the world. And it's going to be available for streaming around the world, too.

That's right, Amazon is planning to expand its streaming services from just a handful of countries to 200 countries and territories this December, putting it on pace to compete with Netflix. And it all starts with The Grand Tour. This Friday the series will be available for streaming in the UK, US, Germany, Austria and Japan, and in December it will be become more widely available across the globe.

Whether you're an auto enthusiast or not, the Prime discount is pretty great, and doesn't happen often. And if you're someone who hates to wait for shipping and wants streaming access to a deep catalog of movies and TV shows, then don't sleep on this offer that goes live at 12am ET.

At a stop on his Saint Pablo concert tour in San Jose, California, Kanye West managed to once again shock his by-now nearly unflappable fans: this time by voicing his support for one Donald Trump.

"I told y'all I didn't vote, right? But I didn't tell you, I guess I told you, but if I would have voted—I would have voted on Trump," said West to what can only be described as stunned boos from the audience.

Keep in mind, this is also the man who once reportedly said: "My greatest pain in life is that I will never be able to see myself perform live."

There is also video of West praising Trump's "absolutely genius" campaign ("Because it fucking worked! —Next song.") and telling black people to "stop focusing on racism" so much and accept "it's just a fucking fact" in America.

West's fans weren't happy, in fact they were the opposite:
