Happy National Wine Day to someone who doesn't need an excuse to drink wine.

National Wine Day is my favorite day to drink wine, followed by every other day.

Movie theater hosts women-only 'Wonder Woman' screening and has no time for men whining about it.

To celebrate the release of a standalone Wonder Womanmovie after an eighty-year wait, the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Austin, Texas is hosting some special women-only screenings so female fans can experience the film like on Wonder Woman's blessed female-only island.

Paradise.

Moody, fragile men feel left out, kind of like how women do in basically every other superhero movie, and are whining on the theater's Facebook page. The social media managers' warrior-level trollery would make Diana Prince proud.

Roping them in with the Lasso of Truth.

Boom.

I consider National Wine Day a religious holiday.

Mom goes viral with ferocious rant against school's 'end-of-year half day.'

As you might recall, mommy blogger and mother-of-two Susannah B. Lewis from Jackson, Tennessee had an emotional time dropping off her youngest kid at kindergarten last summer. And now, as we approach the school year's end, she's having the opposite problem.

At many elementary schools across the country, elementary schools close early the last few days of school while middle and high school students take exams. And during these "end-of-year half days," lots of teachers replace lesson plans with class parties, pajama and movie days, celebratory treats and games, Today reports. Sounds fun tbh. For everyone except the parents.

"That just means I 'half' to get up at 6:30, drag these kids out of bed, send them to school for three hours to get hyped up on sugar, high fructose corn syrup, Pixie Stix, and doughnuts and cupcakes, and then I 'half' to go get them before the sugar high has even worn off," rants Lewis in a video which has gone viral on Facebook.

She told Today she thinks these half-days are "asinine" for teachers as well as parents. "These poor teachers don't want to put in three more hours for another hand print craft or to watch the movie Babe again," she said (it's a great movie tho!).

You can watch her hilarious, but very heartfelt, rant here:

Half day!? This ain't Mother's Day Out.

Posted by Whoa Susannah- Susannah B. Lewis, Author on Tuesday, May 23, 2017

"I have to go get 'em, and they get in the car like dope fiends, like crazy nuts, hyped up on sugar for three and a half hours," she says. "This is not Mother's Day Out, where we just go drop them off for a few hours. No, no, no, no, no!"

Clearly, she's not the only one who feels this way. Her video has racked up 3 million views and over 36K shares since she posted it on Tuesday. And look at these comments:

Even teachers agree kids should just stay home during these days.

To drive her point home, Lewis followed up yesterday with this photo of her son:

In regard to yesterday's half day video-- my son's teacher just sent me this. Not the little Pixie Stix. But the big ones. See you in an hour, boy. :/ #halfday

That giant pixie stick looks like it could keep a child wired for approximately 48-hours. Moms, we truly admire the work you do.

Happy National Wine Day to someone who only gets better with age.

I'm sorry that the Dirty Dancing remake hurt you more than that time we attempted "the lift."

'Miss Black Texas' says police chief called her a 'black b*tch' and unlawfully arrested her.

Another day, another story of horrific racism in the US of A. Carmen Ponder, who was crowned "Miss Black Texas 2016," is calling for a North Texas police chief to be fired after he allegedly called her a "black bitch" and unlawfully arrested her in a fit of rage, because she drove past his 14-year-old daughter on the road, NBC reports.

Ponder, who is also an intern at the Hunt County district attorney’s office, first tweeted about the incident on Tuesday:

She then followed up with more details on what happened:

Ponder was on her way to Walmart when a truck cut in front of her and "kept braking," she writes. "I thought it was a drunk driver." So she drove around them.

She says the truck then followed her to the Walmart parking lot, when a passenger, later identified as police chief Kerry Crews, got out and started yelling at her. According to Ponder, he yelled at her that he was teaching his 14-year-old daughter how to drive (not legal) and that she should not have passed his truck.

"He continued yelling and cussing me out and I finally turned around and said 'It's illegal,' when he kept saying that it was a 14 year old driving," Ponder writes. "That's when he screamed 'oh whatever, you black bitch!"

Ponder says she walked away from the confrontation and went into the store, but that Crews and several other men (later identified as police officers) were waiting for her when she left the store. One of the men demanded she apologize to Crews for being "disrespectful" but she refused. Then one the men grabbed her arm, which she says bruised her, and threatened to detain her.

Police then handcuffed her, claiming she was "resisting arrest," and she spent 24-hours in jail. She now faces a charge for resisting arrest. An arrest which happened, she says, only because of the "color of my skin."

"It’s just a reminder that our skin color, speaking specifically about the African-American community, is seen as something hostile, dangerous and illegal," Ponder's attorney, Lee Merritt, told the Huffington Post.

He said that they are calling for Crews to be fired, for Ponder's charge to be dropped and for assault charges to be filed against the officer who grabbed her arm. There is also a YouCaring post set up to help her cover legal costs.

Merritt, a civil rights lawyer, also shared this post on Facebook yesterday:

I can't express how angry I am! READ THIS: Miss Black Texas 2016/ US Ambassador/Texas A&M Star Student/ Hunt County...

That viral video of a girl getting snatched by a sea lion could have scary consequences.

Over a weekend in May, the internet blew up over a frightful video of a girl getting snatched by a sea lion and dragged into the water off a dock in Canada. Now, reports of a "hazardous infection" called "seal finger" are making the collective heart of the internet skip another beat.

As initial news that everyone walked away from the incident uninjured reached Twitter, most of the internet felt comfortable making light-hearted jokes and memes out of the striking incident.

"Harambe," "this is so me," and "United Airlines LOL" took over for the day.

But not everyone was joking about it. According to the BBC, a staff member at the Vancouver Aquarium gave an interview regarding the sea lion attack, urging the family to get in touch so they could treat the little girl for a condition known as "seal finger."

Apparently, seals and sea lions carry harmful bacteria in their mouths. It can cause an infection if the animal breaks the skin, which the BBC describes as a "painful and potentially serious condition" that causes cellulitis and joint inflammation.

If untreated, according to ABC News, it can even lead to the "loss of fingers or limbs."

This isn't so funny anymore, right?

Fortunately for everyone who's now feeling bad about laughing at the incident, the family got in touch with the Vancouver Aquarium after hearing from their staff in interviews, and is now getting treatment, according to NBC News. BBC reports that the girl indeed suffered a four inch wound from the sea lion's bite.

The little girl's father also spoke out in an interview with the CBC, praising her grandfather for jumping so quickly to the rescue.

"We didn't expect the video to go viral," he added, saying the family is "quite disturbed by it."

In the end though, the Vancouver family is just glad that their little girl is safe—and getting the necessary medical attention.

"I could have gone organizing a funeral by now rather than doing interview."

Mom packs a healthy snack for her kid and receives an idiotic note from the school.

A mom from Australia is sharing the note she got from her daughter's school, shaming her for packing what she thought was a perfectly acceptable snack—raisins. The note asserts that the golden raisins are too high in sugar to be considered an appropriate school snack (what??). The mom posted the note in a private Facebook group called Lunchbox Ideas Australia, but it was reposted by a public Facebook group called "Oh So Busy Mom," where it's gone viral.

🍇Ok, this is a little crazy! 🍇 A mum in my Lunchbox Ideas Australia group received this letter today from her daughter's daycare/school.

Posted by Oh So Busy Mum on Tuesday, May 23, 2017

The note from the school reads,

Please help us to encourage nutritious eating habits in children. Our healthy eating policy asks you to provide healthy and nutritious snacks for your child to eat at kindy. Acceptable items include fresh, dried, or tinned/packaged fruit/vegetables, vegetable dips, cheese, crackers/dry biscuits, yoghurt, fruit bread/muffins, sandwiches with healthy fillings.

The sultanas packed for your child today is unacceptable at kindy due to its high sugar content.

That's a little contradictory, considering the note says that acceptable items include dried fruit, which is exactly what sultanas are. According to Kidspot, the mom's reaction was one of shock: "This must be a joke? Of course they are high in sugar they are fruit,” she reportedly wrote. "Today's lunch consisted of a sandwich roll, two boiled eggs, an orange, kiwi fruit, and a handful of sultanas. She never has packaged food in her lunchbox or anything with refined sugar."

Looking at the comments on the post, other parents were just as shocked and confused (and a little outraged) as she was.

Other parents took the time to point out that sultanas are apparently very high in sugar.

But it's natural sugar, not refined.

This parent summed up the ridiculousness best.

It's sad that this bar had to resort to this hilarious sign to keep customers from harassing the bartender.

Some creepy dudes can't take a hint when it comes women, but this bar in Devon, England is spelling it out for them. Literally.

Under pervy circumstances, The Beer Cellar had to put out this hilarious sign by illustrator Charlotte Mullin explaining to dense dudes why they shouldn't confuse female bartender's kindness for interest.

"This is definitely our favourite sign in the bar," tweeted the Beer Cellar Exeter Twitter account. "Also if dudes could stop trying to kiss our female bartender's hands that would be great."

Wait, kissing hands? Who does that (besides cartoon villains and Game of Thrones characters)?!

"We basically just printed it out after we had a very sex-pest heavy weekend about three months ago. I wanted to make it clear that female staff are nice to you because they have to be," bartender Lauren Dew told Mashable. "And, of course, most of us are decent human beings and would be nice to you anyway, but in no way does this mean we're dying for your dick."

These hysterical history memes are our only hope for educating the children.

A historical meme could mean a really old meme, or it could mean a meme about something really old.

The latter is probably our best chance to get the kids growing up on Snapchat and Instagram to fall in love with history, and luckily for us, the Twitter account @MemesOnHistory keeps a running tab on the best historical memes circulating the web.

The fact that they're going viral on Imgur is a great sign for humanity. Or maybe not. But they're definitely funny if you've ever opened a history book (or, FINE, watched a documentary on Netflix).

Dad writes heartfelt open letter to Ariana Grande telling her to 'take care' of herself first.

Following the bombing of Manchester Arena after her concert, Ariana Grande tweeted that she was "broken" and "so so sorry." After reading that tweet, Patrick Millsaps, the father of three girls who calls himself "a fat dude in Georgia who loves his daughters and appreciate [sic] that there are people like you in the world," tweeted a sweet open letter he wrote to Grande that's now gone viral.

In his letter, Millsaps admits that he's become a fan of Grande as much as his three daughters (ages 13, 12, and 12) have. He advises Grande to "listen up and receive some redneck love from a daddy of daughters," and tells her that she doesn't have "a dadgum thing to apologize for." Millsaps says that taking a break is necessary right now, and Grande should spend time with God, family, and friends. He even gives her permission to lick as many donuts as she wants (lol). Lastly, he tells her that when she's ready, she should sing again, writing, "Every time you open your mouth and share that incredible God-given gift to the world, you make this crappy world a little less crappy."

He ends by writing, "Take care of you first. Your fans aren't going anywhere."

Now that's some priceless advice from someone who is obviously an amazing dad.

The leaders of the world's leading economies, the G7, are meeting in Sicily to talk leading economy stuff, and the internet is celebrating the blossoming political bromance between Handsome Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Handsome French President Emmanuel Macron.

The two went for a stroll around the coastal Sicilian city, and discussed what we imagine was French poetry in French, giving birth to all sorts of memes.

The romantic backdrop of Sicily came straight from your dream journal.

Très romantique!

People were getting Game of Thrones vibes with Sicily sure looking a lot like King's Landing.

As the world burns, at least we have these two handsomes to swoon over.

We, too, are looking forward to more conversations, my friend.

Teacher under fire after giving ‘Most Likely To Become A Terrorist’ award to student.

A middle school teacher in Texas is under fire after "awarding" a 7th-grade student with a "Most Likely to Become a Terrorist" certificate during a mock award ceremony the day after the tragic bombing in Manchester that killed 22 people.

Lizeth Villanueva, a 13-year-old student at Anthony Aguirre Junior High in Houston, TX, was given the offensive "award" in an advanced learning program that prepares students for college.

Villanueva was told that the award was "meant to be funny" and even recalls other teachers laughing. She did not appreciate the joke.

"It was not a joke," Lizeth told Click2Houston. "I do not feel comfortable with this. I do not feel comfortable being in the same classroom with [the teacher]"

She has not returned to class since.

Principal Eric Lathan issued a statement apologizing for the "fake awards" on Twitter.

However, Villanueva's mother feels that the apology is not enough, and wants the teacher to face consequences.

"Getfired, at least, or something," said Ena Hernandez to local CBS station KHOU.

The school is planning on launching an investigation into the incident. That seems like the least that the school could do.

Enjoy this savage nature documentary version of Donald Trump's trip to Europe.

Donald Trump is off on his first international trip as president, and it's been fascinating to see how he's reacting to this untested new territory. A new video by FunnyOrDie, which they have titled "Trump In The Wild," provides nature documentary-style commentary for the president's mannerisms on his trip abroad, specifically his meeting with foreign diplomats at the NATO summit. It's hilariously savage.

"With more mature and competent members of his species forming a defensive wall in front of him, the aging Donald senses he is in danger," the narrator quips as footage of Trump pushing the prime minister of Montenegro plays. "Fearful of seeming inferior, he claws his way to the front of the pack."

Can all Trump news be delivered in the style of a nature documentary from now on?

"Sometimes I would like to [try to] understand owners surrendering their animals and I don't like to judge them," wrote Menchaka. "But when you see how the dogs come to the receiving department with their happy faces and they stand all proud, I just can't understand..."

Here's Electra realizing she's been left at the pound. You can handle watching the video above (turn the sound on if you want to lose all faith in humanity) because you know there's a happy ending.

ADOPTED ELECTRA represents the face os sadness and reality in the shelters. Sometimes I would like to understand...

Posted by Lolys Menchaka on Wednesday, May 17, 2017

Thousands of comments poured in reflecting on the sad puppy, decrying the heartbreaking situation and whoever could leave such a sweet animal alone and confused at a shelter.

Fortunately for Electra, and for all the devastated people who watched her video, she's been adopted.

"I just left her ten-minutes ago," Tiffany Tan, the woman who runs JL Animal Rescue in California told new.com.au. "This dog, you will not believe this dog now." Yup, that's her on the right:

The pup that broke hearts across the world when she was left at a shelter by her family has found her forever home!

Posted by news.com.au on Thursday, May 25, 2017

Go here to check out more of Electra's smiley pics.

Tan had rushed to Electra's pound when she heard her story—and later helped her get adopted by a single mom and her 16-year-old daughter.

Now everyone's flooding back to the original video to leave their overjoyed messages for Electra's new situation.

Go leave your own happy comment, and then visit Electra's GoFundMe page. They hope to raise enough money for a "clear the shelters day" of adoption without fees.

Even though Electra's been adopted, the work isn't nearly over. Don't stop until you've adopted 15 happy doggys.

Now she's enjoying the pleasures of Snapchat.

Or, you know, give some money.
