Beach bum douchebag drags shark out of the ocean just so he can take an Instagram with it.

0

Typically, it's sharks that are frightening Floridians, but a recent incident with a douchey Palm Beach tourist named John Camp flipped that script and continued our selfie/Instagram culture's destructive reign on wildlife. Camp dragged a shark out of the water and pinned it down on the beach in order to have his picture taken with it (who took the picture is unclear). Camp's man bun, trinkets, and needless flexing over the struggling (and not very big) animal only seemed to further the outrage erupting on social media. An unapologetic Camp defended himself in response to the hundreds of angry comments on the Facebook video.

The video (and this comment on it) have since been taken down, but the Internet is forever.

According to The Daily Beast, a video posted to Facebook by West Palm Beach journalist Ashleigh Walters (which was recently taken down), showed Camp pulling the shark out of the water and holding it down for a over a minute. Finally, after Camp got bored (and despite his claims that he returned the shark), a bystander dragged the shark back into the water, only for the perhaps-injured fish to wash up again.

Don't mistake this for brave. This is also a big lesson on how much camera angles can affect how muscular you look.

That wasn't the only hint that things did not end well for the shark. Walters noted in the video description that onlookers waited for several minutes to see if the shark resurfaced after finally being placed in deeper water. Normally, you'd see the shark swimming around again, its fin peeking above the waves. The shark did not reappear after several minutes. It is unclear whether the shark survived being out of its natural habitat for that long.

Legal or not, pinning an animal down in a place where it can't breathe for a photo-op doesn't really fit into Camp's claim of it being an "ethical" catch and release. Also, he seems to have left the "releasing" up to others. While Camp should certainly not be threatened with physical harm (the irony of which was lost on far too many commenters), it still demonstrates tremendous disregard for an animal's well-being purely in the name of ego-satiating photos.

It also seems as though Camp has not seenJaws 4: The Revenge, where man-eating sharks prove to be very capable of holding personal grudges against humans who hurt them.

Adam Levine finally reveals his huge back tattoo that took six months to complete. It wasn't worth it.

0
0

Yesterday, Adam Levine revealed a new back tattoo that has been in the works for six months. Levine already has plenty of ink, which means he had to put this on his back because pretty much the only other place he has free is that pretty face of his. He revealed the new tat on Instagram:

https://www.instagram.com/p/BCG6hhUKjRI/?taken-by=adamlevine

It's a big ol' mermaid cradling a skull (mermaids lure fisherman into the water with their sweet siren song before devouring their flesh and keeping their skulls as trophies, right?). It kind of looks like the mermaid on the Starbucks logo:

https://www.instagram.com/p/BBF6Fa1Rc9t/?taken-by=starbucks

Of course, it's not actually the Starbucks logo. Levine just must really, really like mermaids. At least he doesn't like mermaids so much that he's trying to become a merman, like this guy on the TLC show My Crazy Obsession:

https://youtu.be/pdrwgn_ABrk

What a wild ride this has been. While Levine might have made a questionable choice in back tattoos, at least it's not as bad as Ben Affleck's back tattoo

Parents share horrifying pics and stories after realizing their kids' sippy cups are really mold traps.

Hey moms, stop what you are all doing and put those sippy cups down. Photos showing gross, moldy sippy cups have spread like wildfire on Facebook. Parents are pissed and they are pointing the blame at one specific baby products manufacturer: Tommee Tippee.

This is one of the less-awful-looking photos.

It all started when Marie-Pier S. L’Hostie from Montreal shared an image of her friend Simon O’kanada's Tommee Tippee cup. According to Buzzfeed, O’kanada wondered why his son "was getting sick," and so he decided to crack open the security valve of the sippy cup (later realizing that this was the only way you can find the hidden mold). Here's what he saw:

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10153792162361049&set=a.10150755684356049.444435.704281048&type=3

Concerned parents soon filled the comments section with their own photos showing mold they had found in their children’s sippy cups.

Moreover, O’kanada’s friend Penny Powell had also posted a bunch of nasty sippy cup photos. She wrote (translated): “Those of you with these cups pay special attention, he has washed it with his hands and in the dishwasher, etc., and the mildew has stayed anyway! Share it!”

https://www.facebook.com/pennyass/posts/10153838748026422

Though these photos have recently gone viral, many complaints of moldy sippy cups have been found since as early as last year. This Facebook post from September 2015 shows icky, icky mold living inside a Tommee Tippee security valve:

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10208076786577367&set=pcb.10208076813298035&type=3

Britney Quinones, who shared the post, even offered her own advice on how to properly clean the darn things: "I washed me (sic) thoroughly and always soak all his bottles with vinegar. This little stopper, you can't open it whatsoever, and there is no way for the water to fully drain and air out. The spout also had mold inside of it, I cleaned it with toothpicks...."

Hundreds of customers have expressed their anger on the Tommee Tippee North America Facebook page about the mold, and the company responded with this very long statement:

We always welcome parents’ feedback, comments and ideas. We continually develop our products and look for ways to improve them, so feedback from parents is vital to us. Positive feedback tells us we’re doing the right thing, but just as importantly, like all companies, we learn even more when negative experiences are brought to our attention.

We’ve sold millions of Sippee cups and have had some very positive feedback. However, we know from visitor posts that a few people have not had a good experience with the valve part of the cup. For this we sincerely apologise and we are actively following up on any concerns raised.

We understand that the wellbeing of little ones is paramount and we can reassure all parents that we have extensively tested the valves. We have also been testing them with a panel of 140 mums in the United States.

The results support that when used with recommended liquids (cold, light fluids including water and non-pulp juices) and cleaned in line with instructions, there are no problems. Difficulties have arisen though when liquids that are not recommended for use in the cups have been used, like thick formula milk, pulpy juice and warm liquids. We also recommend that cups are not left for long periods before being cleaned.

However, we do understand that there may be other factors that are difficult to replicate in our testing, so our Careline team would like to speak directly to any parents who are experiencing problems. This will allow us to hear their views, and replace the cup with an alternative of their choice. The number to call is 0 800 10 07 25.

We’ve also prepared a page on our website to help parents care for their cups and valves.

According to WGNTV, a company representative had said that "the mold is likely caused by non-recommended liquids in the cups." Further down the statement, the company intends to make a transparent valve so parents can see if there is anything ugly building up inside.

On the other hand, one shameless man had pointed the blame on parents and not the company for the cause of mold build-up:

OK, thanks for that Brian, mind sharing your method of how to efficiently clean these sippy cups from moldy hell?

Here's the depressing reason why Millennials don't want to eat cereal.

In an article for The New York Times published on February 22, Kim Severson examined breakfast cereal and its position as a "a powerful engine of nostalgia." Severson stated that interest in the food has waned, citing a decrease in sales of $13.9 billion in 2000 to $10 billion last year as evidence. While there is still a market for cereal among Gen Y—Severson quoted 34-year-old Milk Bar pastry chef Christina Tosi as eating "three bowls of cereal for dinner last night"—Millennials generally seem to have less of a desire for cereal. Why? Because, Severson reports, cereal involves too much work.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BBgDnGbnLfc/

"Almost 40 percent of the millennials surveyed by Mintel [a market research firm] for its 2015 report said cereal was an inconvenient breakfast choice because they had to clean up after eating it," Severson wrote. Out of all the activities people are too lazy to do, cleaning a bowl should not be one of them. How are those people feeding themselves if cleaning a bowl and spoon is too much?

https://www.instagram.com/p/7JGZNLFyk9/?taken-by=luckycharms

Cleaning up after a bowl of cereal (washing the bowl and spoon) requires less effort than brushing one's teeth or showering. Are Millennials skimping on that, too? Will there soon be reports that young people are no longer drinking water because it's too hard to turn on a faucet? Someone should maybe check up on them. Good thing they have those helicopter parents.

Here's another sneak peek of 'Fuller House' to help you ease back into having Kimmy Gibbler in your life.

The Full House reboot drops on Friday, February 26th, and as the family reunion creeps closer, Netflix is putting out a few more sneak peeks. Nostalgia is a powerful force, so just in case you've been remembering Full House through rose-colored glasses, the clip features Kimmy Gibbler at peak Kimmy Gibbler-ness so you can gradually acclimate to her annoying antics for when you binge the show this weekend.

The boyfriend of a Toronto Raptors cheerleader steals the halftime show with creative proposal.

On Sunday, a dancer in the Toronto Raptors Dance Pak (that is not a typo) named Morgan received a surprise proposal on the court during halftime. The setup was a pretty brilliant way for her to have no idea that she was about to get engaged. If only everyone had the use of an NBA halftime gag for their marriage proposals

The Raptors won last night and so did this guy!

Posted by Toronto Raptors on Monday, February 22, 2016

Good thing she said yes, because it is a long walk back to the locker room when you don't win. Congrats to Morgan and her new fiancé, who looks an awful lot like John Legend.

Judgy study claims it has determined the perfect number of sexual partners.

Hey kids! Some British researchers are here to remind you that you should be anxious about whether you've had too many or too few sexual partners. Researchers at the UK dating site Illicit Encounters have determined that there is a "goldilocks" number of sexual experiences—a history that's "just right."

This is the premise of the 2011 Chris Evans-Anna Faris movie, and therefore an excuse to share this GIF!

The researches found that 10 is the magic number—"not too hot and not too cold."

Ten sexual partners means that you've logged enough experience to be skilled, sort of like Malcolm Gladwell's "10,000 hours" theory. Less would classify you as "inexperienced," and more would make you "promiscuous."

Easy to count—you should have as many fingers as you do sexual partners.

According to The Telegraph, the study also found:

  • Between 8-12 lovers was by far the most popular answer — chosen by 38% of women and 37% of men. Within that group, 10 lovers was considered best.
  • Men, in particular, are more wary of women who had a score higher than 10.
  • Any figure above 20 was a big turn-off to men and women — chosen by 3% of women and 4% of men.
  • Just 35% of women wanted to know a man's total.
  • For men, only 30% wanted to know a woman's sexual history.

Ten is the magic number according to science: So if you're at 9, have a great weekend, and if you're at 11, start working on a time travel device.

Kesha speaks out about her case and shares her thanks in a Facebook statement.

Following the denial of an injunction that would have allowed Kesha to record music under others labels while her suit against Dr. Luke remains pending, Kesha received an outpouring of support from celebrities and normal, non-celebrity people. Taylor Swift donated money to Kesha (and set off a debate). Lena Dunham wrote a heartfelt essay. #FreeKesha became a trending hashtag.

Kesha first shared her gratitude on Instagram:

https://www.instagram.com/p/BCJivGiu1cN/

I am beyond words in gratitude. thank you is not enough but it is all I have. a million times over and forever thank you. the support I have received has left my face swollen from tears. I love you all so much.  a statement too large for this format is coming....

She has since taken the time to write a longer message in which she not only gives thanks, but also urges assault victims to voice their sufferings.

https://www.facebook.com/kesha/posts/10153997571499459

I'm so, so beyond humbled and thankful for all of the support I've
received from everyone. Words cannot really express the emotions I've gone through reading and seeing how amazing everyone has been to me. I can’t believe that so many people all over the world took the time to show me support and love. Other entertainers who knowingly put their own careers at stake by supporting me, I will be forever grateful.

All I ever wanted was to be able to make music without being afraid, scared, or abused. This case has never been about a renegotiation of my record contract – it was never about getting a bigger, or a better deal. This is about being free from my abuser. I would be willing to work with Sony if they do the right thing and break all ties that bind me to my abuser.

But at this point, this issue is bigger than just about me.

I think about young girls today – I don’t want my future daughter – or your daughter – or any person to be afraid that they will be punished if they speak out about being abused, especially if their abuser is in a position of power.

Unfortunately I don’t think that my case is giving people who have
been abused confidence that they can speak out, and that’s a problem.

But I just want to say that if you have been abused, please don’t be afraid to speak out. There are places that will make you feel safe. There are people who will help you. I for one, will stand beside you and behind you. I know now how this all feels and will forever fight for you the way perfect strangers have been fighting for me.

Yes, I am very much a feminist, but more than that, I am a humanist. I believe in supporting my fellow human beings in being SAFE.

We're all in this together. You are not alone.

I love you and thank you.

Kesha may be glad to know that she is wrong about her case's impact. The comments on her Facebook post show that Kesha's unrelenting fight against Dr. Luke—who she alleges date raped and emotionally abused her—has aided others. "I was raped by a coworker last year and your courage has given me the strength to speak out and advocate for survivor rights," one Facebooker wrote. "You and all other people that have been abused physically, emotionally, and psychologically deserve justice," Lacy Flaherty commented. "You deserve to be heard and respected."  From this vantage point, the #FreeKesha movement is only gaining momentum.

Khloe Kardashian got busted for some obvious Photoshop on an Instagram selfie.

The world is shocked, shocked, that Khloe Kardashian used some light retouching to smooth out her body on a selfie  posted to her social media accounts today. Look closely at the door behind the reality star—the edge of the door (by her right thigh) is curved ever so slightly, as doors don't usually do in the real world:

Commenters on her Instagram noticed the 'shop job almost immediately—"I love you but really? You look great you don’t need to edit your pics," one user wrote—until Kardashian took the photo down and replaced it with the un-retouched (or better retouched) version, along with a snarky caption about the mini-controversy.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BCLpKbxhRnR/?taken-by=khloekardashian

"If only hatin burned calories how dope yall would be," she wrote. "Too bad it doesn't. Here's the OG shot. The petty movement ain't cute. Oh and I almost forgot.... Namaste."

"Namaste." The Kardashians are true connoisseurs of Eastern thought.

Flirting

These are the most right-swiped jobs on Tinder.

0
0

Tinder, the dating app that is alternately improving and ruining your love life, has released data on the jobs that get the most right-swipes from its users. The list largely reads like a rundown of "Jobs for Women" and "Jobs for Men" from 1950, except for the very 2016 job of Founder/Entrepreneur, which people apparently still think sounds cool despite all the douchey tech bros out there:

What, no Sandwich Artist?

The jobs that make it to both lists are Founder/Entrepreneur, Teacher, College Student, Personal Trainer, and Model. So if you are all of those things (a personal trainer is basically already a teacher, right?) it's probably statistically impossible for people to swipe left on you, whether you're a man or a woman.

According to the blog post from Tinder, "Linking your job & education gets you more matches" and "increases your chances of getting a right swipe." So, you should definitely add that information to your profile. But should you go back to school for a new career? Maybe, but you shouldn't let a graphic from a dating app make that decision for you. At least consult a graphic from another app for a second opinion.

Little girl covers her baby sister with permanent marker because she 'loves being zebras.'

Kids are really, really good at doing things they shouldn't. Phenomenal, really. Take Sovereign, the daughter of Australian mom Amy Herrmann. Sovereign, as she puts it, "loves being zebras." That's why she recently took a quiet moment with a permanent marker as an opportunity to turn her sister Pippen into one:

https://www.facebook.com/amy.herrmann.14/videos/10153252481502331/

Herrmann told BuzzFeed News, "I worked as a face painter for some time also, so it’s possible that’s where the idea to transform her sister came from too. Though she usually requests to be a tiger, so the zebra explanation was quite unexpected."

If Herrmann wanted to teach Sovereign a lesson about unwanted makeovers, she could always do what this cool/cruel aunt did.

Khloe Kardashian was banned from giving a speech at Kim and Kanye's wedding.

Tuesday night on The Late Late Show, Khloé Kardashian told James Corden that she was banned from giving any speeches at her sister Kim and Kanye West's wedding, because she's such a "talker"—meaning she rambles and doesn't always use the best choice of words.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T3pePU0tFo4

No worries, though—since Kanye was there, they already had the whole awkward, long-winded wedding toast portion covered. West gave a speech that, according to Khloé went on for "like 45 minutes" (no one is certain of the exact amount of time because they all either excused themselves to go to the bathroom or just passed out at their tables). During his speech, he did tease his new sister-in-law a bit, "one ranter to another ranter," saying, "I know you want the mic." Too bad Khloé didn't catch it during the traditional "throwing of the mic" portion of Kardashian weddings.

Khloé Kardashian's friend proves a point with photo of Khloé in her underwear.

Celebrity makeup artist and official Khloé Kardashian friend Joyce Bonelli posted a picture of Khloé wearing underwear and a cropped tank top on Instagram yesterday. The picture comes in response to yesterday's "Doorgate"—when critics harangued Kardashian for the pretty bad Photoshop job evident in a mirror selfie she posted earlier that day.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BCMMpg_RLDs/

Bonelli also posted a sexy Snapchat video of Kardashian dancing in a long sleeved leotard, looking undeniably fit and un-Photoshopped.

Bonelli even added a series of door emojis in both captions, in case the reference wasn't completely clear.

So yes, Photoshop or not, Khloé Kardashian looks pretty great. And this just might mark the only time it's ever been okay for someone to post an Instagram of their friend in underwear.

Here is the most important makeup news ever: how Adele's makeup artist does her cat eye.

Besides her music, personality, and overall perfection, Adele is known for her cat eye makeup. She's been rocking the look with varying wing length since she hit the celebrity circuit and it's always on-point.

https://www.instagram.com/p/9WHZxlgfHR/

The man behind the look, makeup artist and hairstylist Michael Ashton, spoke with The Cut and revealed his method for creating Adele's cat eye, which he first crafted when Adele was about to release 19. Ashton approaches the eye like an artist readying a masterpiece. "Product cocktailing is key to achieving the intensity and opaqueness of the eyeliner," he says. That's a free pass to go buy lots of eyeliners.

https://www.instagram.com/p/-X9qeSAfLB/

Ashton begins with a black gel liner. Moving from the inside corner of the eye to the outer corner, he outlines the shape. "I then work the product right into the root of the lashes and then build thickness gradually," he said. After the basic shape is completed, he uses "a waterproof liquid liner with a precision tip to intensify and refine the line." At the very end he swipes in the wings.

While Ashton didn't name his favorite eyeliners, he did mention that he's a fan of Diorshow Black Out Mascara.

Have you ever been this excited about anything in your life?

Adele spoke about her love for Lana Del Rey in her Vogue cover story:

“I’m obsessed with her,” says Adele. “Her lyrics are fierce. The chorus of this song ["Salvatore"] makes me feel like I’m flying, like that bit in your life when it goes into slo-mo. When you’ve got nothing to do and you’re staring out of the window and your mind goes to magical places.”

The obsession is skin-deep, as they actually have similar tattoos—but Adele swears that it's a coincidence.

20-year-old almost dies after leaving tampon in for nine days.

0
0

A 20-year-old British woman almost died from toxic shock syndrome (TSS) after leaving a tampon in for nine days due to forgetfulness during her final exams, according to the Daily Mail. "When I finally realized, I pulled it out," she's quoted as saying. "It was pure black. I wouldn't have known what it was apart from the string. It was horrible. I immediately chucked it in the loo, I felt sick."

Maybe freebleeders are onto something.

By the way—if you are reading this and think this young woman is stupid, congratulations: you're probably a man! Because most women have a story about forgetting that they put a tampon in because the string goes up inside them. Sometimes they accidentally put two tampons in at once for this reason! Women have to deal with a lot of stress and that makes them forgetful sometimes and the insides of vaginas are not particularly sensitive (all the important nerve endings are outside the body on the clitoris, you hear?) and that's fine, okay???

Anyway.

Toxic shock syndrome is a pretty rare infection, even if you leave a tampon in for too long, but when it happens, it can be fatal. Even after this woman removed the tampon, she felt deathly sick from TSS and blood poisoning; it was only after three days in the hospital being given antibiotics intravenously that she recovered. Still, she temporarily lost all mobility, and still struggles with walking, according to the Daily Mail.

So that's another thing to stress out about during your period.
