Celeste Barber is an Australian comedian with an incredible knack for translating the spurious digital lives of celebrities into reality. After executing a round of side-by-side portraits a few months ago, she's continued building her series, called #celestechallengeaccepted. This time, she's broadened her range of targets to include the likes of Maddie Ziegler and Justin Bieber, blowing the lid off their vanities with a graceful gracelessness.

A guy's fiancée wouldn't let him go on a birthday trip with his friends. His cardboard self had a great time.

Kevin's friends wanted to go on a little weekend getaway with him for his birthday, but Kevin's fiancée wasn't keen on the idea. So, his friends compromised by going on the trip with a cardboard cutout of Kevin instead. His friend and Redditor AteMyWheaties shared some wild pictures from the big birthday bash.

Cardboard Kevin was excited for his trip.

Cardboard Kevin was glad to be spending some quality time with his bros.

Cardboard Kevin was well-dressed for athletic activities.

(In real-life Kevin is a about a foot taller, according to AteMyWheaties.)

Cardboard Kevin managed to stay clean without the help of a nagging fiancée.

Cardboard Kevin was a hit at the club.

Cardboard Kevin made lots of lady friends.

Cardboard Kevin got a little too close with some women in his fiancée's opinion.

During the weekend trip, Kevin sent AteMyWheaties a text regarding Cardboard Kevin's behavior. "Update, she is now mad," Kevin said about his fiancée, "because I told her im definitely getting a lap dance this weekend. Cardboard Kevin is held to the same rules as alive Kevin. Shit is getting wild." Poor Cardboard Kevin only wanted to take a little break from his stiff life.

Israeli makeup artist Tal Peleg paints mini masterpieces on her eyelids. They're almost too good.

Tal Peleg is a 29-year-old makeup artist in Israel who creates teeny tiny masterpieces on her eyelids. And it's a shame she can't look herself in the face, because the impeccable detail and vibrant colors are truly a sight to behold. Most of her eye makeup designs feature scenes from popular animated movies, as well as musicals, and classic books like The Little Prince. Peleg tells Someecards:

I love to take my time with every design, to pay attention to every little detail and every line, so the process is quite long. It takes between 1.5 to 5 hours to create a piece, and it really depends on how complicated the design is, and if I plan ahead of improvise. The average time is about 3 hours.

Here are some of her lovely eye makeup creations:

1. Disney's Frozen

2. The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

7. The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein.

https://www.instagram.com/p/-ZZ3-UiX7s/?taken-by=tal_peleg

Peleg also says that her passion for makeup goes way, way back: "I used to play with makeup since I was a little child, and experiment on my little sisters... so makeup has always been a part of my life, and I always liked the more artistic side of it. I have worked as professional makeup artist for the last 9 years. Over time, especially in the last 3-4 years, my work has become more and more illustrative."

8. The Shining

13. The Phantom of the Opera

15. The Princess Bride

https://www.instagram.com/p/_UoIKRCX04/?taken-by=tal_peleg

Peleg says that the piece she holds closest to her heart is that of a black cat playing with yarn (below):

First of all, because it was one of my most successful and popular designs. It's quite simple and not so detailed like my current works, but very original idea and that's why people really liked it. but the real reason is that it's inspired by my beloved cat Louis, who passed away since then... so it's very sentimental for me. This work is printed, framed and hanged in front of my working desk to always remind me of him.

The artist's beloved cat, Louis.

18 hilarious tweets about #EqualPayDay, because how else are you going to cope with this BS?

April 12 is Equal Pay Day in the United States, when women "celebrate" earning in one year, three months, one week and 5 days what men earned in a single year. It's awful! Even the president thinks so! Still, it's a tragedy that has gone on for a long time, and everyone knows that tragedy plus time equals comedy! Here are some funny tweets (and even some thoughtful ones!) about the annoying persistence of the wage gap:

Identical twins pull off the most subtly disturbing face swap yet.

0
0

Face swaps are entertaining because they are surprising, whether in their fails or successesthis face swap, however, is the opposite of surprising. It is everything you'd expect from a face swap between two identical twins. And yet, it's strangely compelling to watch because something is just-so-slightly off.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M__SWcehSrw

For a second there, when the face swap wasn't doing the best job, the twins looked like they'd taken a dose of Polyjuice Potion.

Minor struggles aside, a face swap between these two siblings confirms that they are related, as are these ladies.

8 awesome wedding dance routines you'll enjoy more than being at an actual wedding.

0

Weddings usually follow a pretty standard formula, including the songs and dances at the reception. The bride and her father will dance to "Butterfly Kisses." The DJ will play "Thriller" twice. But in recent years, people have been mixing things up with elaborately choreographed dance numbers performed by the wedding party. While many of these are painful to watch, some of them turn out a lot better than they have any right to be. Here are the best:

1. They're breakdance fighting!

2. A band of boys and a boy do a song by a boy band.

This snowboarder didn't see the bear chasing her down, but her selfie stick did.

0

No matter where you are, it's best practice to look over your shoulder every five seconds just to make sure a bear hasn't snuck up on you. One snowboarder, Kelly Murphy, learned that lesson while reviewing footage from her selfie stick and seeing that she was too busy jamming to Rihanna to notice the ursine beast sprinting after her down the slope.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vT_PNKg3v7s

The video's description reads:

OMG! I was going through my snowboarding videos and I found a bear chasing me!!! I nearly got eaten!!!

This was at Hakuba 47 in Japan, filmed yesterday! Be careful people!!!

Intense. It's like something out of a found-footage movie, which is exactly what people are suspecting.

https://twitter.com/TomChivers/status/719454979938000900?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfwhttps://twitter.com/SimonHain/status/719474891519565825?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfwhttps://twitter.com/DavidClinchNews/status/719551512511295488

One of the primary reasons people believe it to be a hoax is that the bear noise sounds an awful like this stock audio. (FULL DISCLOSURE: Kelly sent us this video Monday morning before it went viral, and Someecards editors passed on it for this very reason—but now we get to write about the controversy.)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BGG616qvxBI

The Independentdid its own investigation, performing an extensive breakdown of the video's more suspect elements and reaching out to Kelly Murphy, who responded by continuing to purport the video's authenticity.

Yes the video is real! I didn't know anything was happening at the time but it's so scary to watch it back now! I think I'll stick to the runs with my friends from now on lol

The Independent's article also alleged that it's rare but technically possible to come across an Asiatic black bear in Hakuba while spring skiing, given that they start coming out of hibernation in March.

Could it have been a sneaky marketing ploy for the chic headphones Murphy was enjoying so much? Spokespeople for the featured headphone brand, Outdoor Tech, told the Independent,"we know just as much about this video as you do: absolutely nothing."

Voice of Dora the Explorer involved in lawsuit for vaping at school. Can you say 'lawsuit'?

0

Say adiós to your childhood, because the voice of Dora the Explorer, Fatima Ptacek, was caught vaping in the bathroom at school

ABC 7 News is reporting that the 15-year-old actress was caught vaping in the bathroom of Manhattan Avenues, the private school she attends. But that is not what got her in trouble. Actually, the fact that Ptacek hardly received any punishment at all is what got her involved in a lawsuit involving a 14-year-old classmate. Let's break it down so it's as easy to understand as an episode of Dora the Explorer

Dora no vaping! Dora no vaping!

A 14-year-old identified only as "M.S." and Ptacek were caught smoking out of a vaporizer in the bathroom of Manhattan Avenues World School, but M.S. was expelled while Ptacek was only given three days suspension. The lawsuit against the school claims "The fact that [Fatima Ptacek] is a known actress for being the voice of Dora Explorer may have played a role in why she was ultimately not expelled even after the school threatened as much, and M.S. was expelled instead as a scapegoat". The lawsuit was filed by M.S.'s parents, Nadia Leonelli and Fredrik Sundwall.

Can you say "lawsuit"?

Sundwall and Leonelli think that due to Ptacek's acting resume, she was given preferential treatment. According to their court filing, they are seeking $40,000 in damages and want their daughter reinstated back into the school. They also claim that M.S. has never been in trouble before, and only smoked the vape because she felt peer pressured to look "cool" in front of Ptacek (Dora would definitely argue that vaping is not cool). Looks like they found Dora to be a bad influence.

Neither Ptacek or Nickelodeon has not commented on the controversy, and school representative Bruce Bobbin has only said that disciplinary matters are "private and confidential."

Here are a bunch of photos from Japan’s first hedgehog cafe. You’re very welcome!

Japan, a country that seems be obsessed with tiny adorable animals, is now home to Harry, the world's first hedgehog cafe. (To be clear, Harry is the name of the cafe, not a hedgehog.) That's right, if you are in Japan, you can chose from cat cafes, owl cafes, dog cafes, reptile cafes—and now, hedgehog cafes. You should probably make your decision based on what kind of allergens you like floating around in the air. Located in the Roppongi district of Tokyo, Harry allows guests to pet, hug, cuddle and play with these spiky little creatures at the rate of 1,000 yen (about nine bucks) an hour.

https://www.facebook.com/1472652449664546/photos/pb.1472652449664546.-2207520000.1460492213./1615244825405307/?type=3&theaterhttps://www.facebook.com/1472652449664546/photos/pb.1472652449664546.-2207520000.1460492208./1678766915719764/?type=3&theater

So far, Harry has been a huge hit. People are coming from all over the world to meet the hedgehogs. Even though their exterior may be prickly, it would seem that their personalities are not. Harry employee Mizuki Murata told the South China Morning Post:

We wanted to show people the charm of hedgehogs, which give the impression of being hard to handle. We wanted to get rid of that image by letting people touch them.

https://www.facebook.com/1472652449664546/photos/pb.1472652449664546.-2207520000.1460492210./1659586284304494/?type=3&theaterhttps://www.facebook.com/1472652449664546/photos/pb.1472652449664546.-2207520000.1460492086./1651860788410377/?type=3&theater

If you find a hedgehog you can't seem to part with, Harry also offers adoption services. At any given time, there are 20-30 hedgehogs of all different breeds in the cafe ready to meet you.

Here are the characters ‘Game of Thrones’ fans think are most likely to die in season 6.

0
0

Redditor UPRC conducted a survey of over 7000 'Game of Thrones' fans on who they deemed most likely to die in Season 6, and the results are pretty fascinating. People seem excited to start the bloodbath—maybe so more actors can date in real life after their star-crossed lovers die on the show. Admittedly, there's some element of "who would you like to see die in Season 6" (looking at you, Olly), but many of the answers near the top are surprising. The only really doubtful thing is that all the fan favorites are near the bottom of the list—and everyone knows George R.R. Martin doesn't take kindly to characters who are beloved by fans. We're keeping this intro paragraph spoiler-free, but below the image we'll discuss the results more in-depth.

OK, BOOK AND SHOW SPOILER ALERTS PAST THIS POINT.

First of all, the #1 pick, Balon Greyjoy, is pretty much a gimme. Theon and Asha's dad is already dead in the books. He done got blown off a bridge by a magical wind sent by Melisandre.

#2-#9 are basically a rogue's gallery of the most hated characters on the show. Alliser and Olly killed Jon Snow. Lancel Lannister is a religious nutjob who narced on his cousin (people hate Cersei, but not as much as they hate snitches). Pycelle has managed the impressive feat of being despised by every other character. Roose Bolton may not be as hated as his son Ramsay, but the fact that Ramsay is his heir probably ups his odds of dying. Ellaria Sand managed to lose fans' sympathy after Oberyn's death by starting the Sand Snakes antics in Sunspear. Finally, the 90-something Walder Frey was responsible for the Red Wedding.

#11, #12, and #13, however are all basically guaranteed deaths. The seer told Cersei as a child that all her offspring would die, Jorah is literally plague-ridden, and the High Sparrow really pissed off a sitting queen.

Beyond that, it's pretty much just Russian roulette. Who do you think will bite the big one? Valar morghulis, everyone.

Celebrities reveal what people bullied them for as kids. It was never for being too awesome.

0

BuzzFeed interviewed a bunch of celebrities who were bullied as kids, and got some pretty heartwarming advice for people going through that now. (By the way, how did BuzzFeed know who got bullied as a kid? Did they just look at certain celebs and YouTube personalities and say "Yeah, definitely that one"?) Bullying's a serious epidemic, and one that's not easy to speak up about, but hearing what all these now-rich and beautiful people have to say about their own experience on the receiving end of put-downs may just help you through the tough times.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rAitztGFHbY

One of the best ways to show your bullies what you're made of is to become wildly famous. That way, you won't ever be able to hear their voices over the chorus of anonymous online bullies who now torment you.

Map shows the most disproportionately popular jobs in each state. New Jersey, you're weird.

0
0

Business Insider mined some data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics and made a map showing which jobs each state has more than the rest of the country. Some make a lot of sense based on the state, and others are not so obvious. Most people have endured a tough or draining job at some point in their lives. Lots of people are enduring them in Missouri and New Jersey, but it's not clear why there are so many of those jobs there.

The Northeast

New Jersey wins this round with more shampooers than any other state. Mob wives need to keep their hair sufficiently gigantic, and it takes a lot of shampooers to complete the job.

The Midwest

The Midwest deals with lots of machinery and meat. No surprises there. But Missouri specializes in "locker and dressing room attendants." Hopefully, it reflects jobs at gyms and spas, not someone who sits and watches a dressing room.

The West (and Alaska and Hawaii)

Mining and forestry make plenty of sense out West. But Utah has lots of telephone operators, which is odd since everyone uses cell phones these days. It either means Utah has a disproportionate number of landlines or that telemarketers have retreated to call centers in Utah.

The South

Let's assume Florida's motorboat operators have nothing to do with boats and everything to do with strip clubs.

And here's the full map

If you're feeling down about your state's most disproportionately popular job, there are other ways to feel better about your regional neighbors. Check out what each state Googles the most and which states have the craziest laws on the books.

A bereaved dog owner made a lovely donation on behalf of her late dog, Murphy, by giving his beloved tennis balls to a local park. Now any other dog who enjoys chasing a ball can scoop one up in memory of the lab. BBC Radio Sheffield shared the photo on their Facebook page of the basket of tennis balls along with a note, which were left in Barnsley's Locke Park in the UK.

A Present From Murphy

My brave little labby who passed away 7th April 2016

So far all those ball loving dogs please enjoy as much as Murphy did

If you are crying, don't worry. You are not alone.

Facebook user Gareth Barnes commented and said that his mother Susan was the one to leave out the balls and the sign.

Rest in peace, Murphy. If heaven for dogs exists, hopefully it is filled with tennis balls.

Sleepy guy waits seven years to make the world's greatest Twitter joke.

Twitter isn't known as a platform for slow-burn comedy, but one young man named Marcus Lepage has broken the mold by leaving his account dormant for almost seven years just to make one amazing joke. Until recently, Lepage's Twitter timeline only included this one tweet, posted April 26, 2009:

https://twitter.com/MarcusLepage/status/1626015356

But on April 12 of this year, Lepage stunned the Internet by tweeting again:

Twitter just found its true purpose, and it has Marcus Lepage to thank. We all do.
