Everyone's talking about Sophie Turner's glam, grown-up look at the Venice Film Festival.

Sophie "Sansa Stark" Turner was a little kid when she first got cast on Game of Thrones. Look at baby Sansa with baby Arya in their auditions for the show! It's adorable!

Well, Sophie Turner isn't a little kid any more. She's a beautiful, grown woman and her cheekbones fill me with envy. And at the Venice Film Festival, she combined blonde hair (a temporary dye as she films the movie Huntsville before Game of Thrones filming starts up later this season) with a low-cut, form-fitting, very Italian dress:

Bellissimo!

Woman goes undercover at 'pregnancy counseling center,' records every lie she's told.

A reporter for the Times UK went undercover to The Women's Centre, a pregnancy counseling center in Dublin, Ireland (where abortion is illegal), pretending to be seeking an abortion. There, she filmed a counselor giving her the justslightly erroneous information that abortion increases women's risk of breast cancer and might cause them to abuse any children they have afterwards.

The Women's Centre, which is not regulated by Irish law, claims to offer impartial advice to women thinking of traveling to the UK to get abortions. However, it turns out they're linked to the Good Counsel Network, a Catholic anti-abortion group that has compared abortion to terrorism. Hmm—not only do they not understand abortion, they also don't seem to understand "impartial."

In this hidden video, the pregnancy counselor tells the reporter, "I'm obliged to give you the truth," but then tells her, "a baby in the womb feels pain considerably more than we would … due to the sensitivity of the developing nervous system." She also claims that after an abortion, "you go from being pregnant to unpregnant so rapidly that your cells can become damaged. The younger the woman, the worse it is … There will be a breast cancer risk." Describing women who've had abortions, this wise counselor says, "[T]hey have been known to neglect their children, or overprotect them, it's a psychological thing. Like a bereavement."

The head of the Institute of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in Ireland, Dr. Peter Boylan, called the center's statements about the dangers of abortion "outrageous." Simon Harris, Ireland's Health minister, said he felt "a bit sickened" by the misinformation (wow, imagine how the pregnant women who hear it feel) and has requested an investigation into the center, adding that he'd consider some sort of government regulations for pregnancy counseling services. Yeah, that might be a good idea.

This 18-year-old Texas girl and her 82-year-old grandpa are off to college as classmates.

Rene Neira just started his first semester at Palo Alto College in San Antonio, TX, but at least he already knows someone on campus—his 18-year-old granddaughter, Melanie Salazar.

While some kids might try to avoid being seen with their grandpa at school, Salazar told ABC News, "I look at my grandpa and I’m proud of him. This is a normal thing. It feels great and I’m very proud of him." She hopes his example encourages others to continue their education at any age.

She was still surprised, however, when her tweet featuring several photos of Neira went viral and sparked a wave of news coverage. "I don’t want to take credit for it. It’s not my story. It’s all my grandpa's story. I just so happen to have social media."

At 82, Neira may be the oldest freshman Palo Alto has ever had, but he plans to get his associate degree in economics at the community college before completing a bachelor's degree at the University of Texas at Austin.

Even though he's already made her the coolest girl on campus, Salazar said her grandfather is also giving her a healthy sense of competition: "I know that if he can do it and I can definitely can."

Watching drunk people try to assemble IKEA furniture will make you happy.

Getting drunk and having to assemble Ikea furniture seems like some evil form of torture thought up in a millennials-only think tank, but Niamh and George of the YouTube channel Facts did it in the name of creating some hilarious content. Prior to building a cabinet looking thing from Ikea, the pair took five shots and drank three beers. Then they used hammers. Check it out.

Oh, and you might want to put on the closed captioning while watching. Irish accents + drunk slurring = ????

They did a better job constructing that shelf drunk than I could sober, but the most impressive thing about the whole display is how two people could build something from Ikea together without wanting to rip each other's heads off in the process. Hats (or beanies) off to you guys. Now go get yourselves a drink. You deserve it.

Former porn star Mia Khalifa burns Ole Miss QB who sloppily tried to hit on her on Twitter.

After the Ole Miss Rebels lost to the Florida State Seminoles by a whopping 45-34, former adult film actress and Seminoles superfan Mia Khalifa posted a screenshot of the Twitter Direct Message exchange she had with Ole Miss quarterback Chad Kelly before the game. Kelly's loss on the field was almost as embarrassing as his attempts to slide into her DMs.

Khalifa celebrated the 'Noles victory with a glimpse into Kelly's playbook off the field, which as she points out, isn't the type of play he should have been focusing on.

Khalifa warned Kelly not to get excited, saying “I’m only following you for seminole recon to find your weaknesses before the game. Also because last chance U,” a reference to the Netflix documentary Kelly was in.

Like guys always do, Kelly confused her burn for a flirt, to which Khalifa responded, "“Weakness 1: can’t resist urges to slide into DM’s of girls outta his league." And by "league," she didn't mean the Southeastern Conference.

Kelly deleted his account after his embarrassing loss and the embarrassing screenshot. Looks like the 'Noles won the Twitter game as well.

Rihanna was feeding birds in NYC at 7 am while wearing a giant fur heart.

Just when you think Rihanna couldn't be any more Rihanna, she out-Rihannas even herself. The pop star and proprietor of Drake's heart was wandering around Soho, NYC yesterday morning feeding birds on the street while wearing a giant red fur heart, according to this video she posted on Snapchat. Because of course she was.

All signs point to this being a walk of shame stride of pride, since the pop star was wearing this same outfit the night before while celebrating the birthday of her friend Miles Diggs, a paparazzi.

But in the video, she's wearing what look suspiciously like bedroom slippers. So did she go home first, change into her PJ's, then change back into the fox fur heart (sorry, vegans) and wake up early to feed the birds? Or did she stop into a Duane Reade to buy more comfortable shoes on her way home from the club? Was Drake (who she very much seems to be dating) somehow involved??

All we know is that feeding birds, while possibly intoxicated, in the streets of NYC at the break-of-dawn is exactly what Rihanna would be doing. Just don't try this at home if you're not Rihanna, you'll scare people.

Brie Larson apologized for this throwback pic, and not because she was wearing a trucker hat in it.

Everyone has a regrettable picture or two from their youth, or at least a picture of a regrettable haircut from their youth. I, for example, will regret forever that I have a f*cking pageboy bob in my prom photos. But because Academy Award-winning actress Brie Larson is a celebrity, apparently she has to occasionally give an apology for her Flashback Friday photos. Her most recent one happened to show her interacting with a dolphin in captivity, years before everyone's boyfriend made them watch Blackfish.

Here was the offending photo on Instagram:

That caption reads: "I touched a Dolphins belly while sporting a trucker hat in 2004. #noregrets#fbf." With an addendum: "EDIT: I do not support animal cruelty."

A day later, Larson followed up the post with a serious selfie apology:

The caption for this reads:

Yo - it's me again. I posted a photo previously that encapsulated a silly moment in my weird life. I forgot that through social media and random interviews you do not know all the facets of me and what my concerns are. We should be concerned about the well being of all animals. Yes, Dolphins. Along with every other creature. There are problems with animals in captivity. There are problems with animals living in the wild. It has always been a priority of mine to speak for those who cannot speak for themselves. I apologize if the photo appeared to endorse animal cruelty. I don't believe any living thing deserves miss treatment. In the comments section feel free to discuss your thoughts, concerns, articles ANYTHING that can turn this into a moment of education for myself all who are interested. We gotta remember that we will make mistakes but we can learn from them, together. Much love.

As far as celebrity apologies go, this one from Brie Larson seems pretty sincere. And at least she's encouraging people to talk about dolphins and animal cruelty, rather than acting defensively.

Alas, the only person to whom I can apologize for my regretabble high school haircut is ... me.

Mom shares underwear photos from before and after she had kids to make a point about loving yourself.

Who says all before and after photos have to show "improvement" that only means weight loss? Because this mom is proving before and after photos can also show "improvement," meaning love.

Awesome new mom redefines before and after pictures.

Laura Mazza, mother of 2 young kids, runs the mommy blog The Mum on the Run. She recently posted the above photo, with a powerful message accompanying it about body acceptance.

She writes about the woman she was on the left, when she was skinnier...

I took progress photos because it meant I was closer to be a weight where I would love myself. I ate no carbs, and barely any vegetables. Just meat. But I loved it because I was losing weight rapidly and the more bones that protruded the more I valued myself... But still I looked at this photo, this image of myself, like I was fat. There was nothing wrong with the way I looked. My body was mine.

And then the woman she is now, on the right, post babies...

On the right is me now. Stretch marks. A droopy belly button. Thicker, not many bones protruding, but more dimples that represent cellulite. People don't want to see this photo. All of a sudden it's not okay. It's not pleasing to the eye anymore. It's not a body to be admired... The scars and stretch marks and jiggly tummy is because I made humans. I ate a little more cake, I drank a little more wine.

But she says she wouldn't change anything, because...

I have achieved more with this body, then I have with my old body. I've eaten more good foods. I've lived more, I've given more, I've enjoyed more. I've made life. This body, THIS body should be celebrated and admired.

People on Facebook are basically screaming their support.

We are living for this woman right now.

No matter what size you are, a size 6 or size 60. You deserve to celebrate it. Sexy underwear AND a new wardrobe. So love your body, because you truly really really, only get one... And it's STILL sexy to wear granny jocks! Woop woop!

People are speaking out against the #IfMenHadPeriods hashtag for shunning the trans community.

0
0

Dr. Jennifer Gutner, an OB/GYN in Canada, started the hashtag #IfMenHadPeriods to call out institutional sexism, but some commenters on the internet are calling her out for overlooking trans people.

The hashtag started out with jokes about how the world would look different if the men in power were bleeding from their insides on the reg.

After the jokes got rolling, people pointed out that some men do have periods, and that the hashtag is cissexist, doing more to reinforce the binary than to take down the patriarchy.

While the hashtag was likely not intended to be transphobic, ignoring or overlooking people is anti-trans in itself.

Could there be trouble in Hiddleswift paradise?

0

Despite starting the summer as a super couple, singer Taylor Swift and British actor Tom Hiddleston's relationship might be sinking. When they first began dating, they seemed to be together nonstop: at her place in Rhode Island, at a Selena Gomez concert, and even in Australia. But now tongues are wagging because Hiddleswift actually hasn't been photographed together since July.

Sources told Page Six that Swift, 26, is worried that Hiddleston, 35, wants to be seen with her at high-profile events just so he can absorb a bit of her fame (scientifically, popularity via osmosis), whereas she'd rather just keep things private. Well, as private as things can be when you're arguably America's biggest pop star.

🇺🇸

A photo posted by Britany LaManna (@britmaack) on

The source told Page Six,

Tom wants their relationship to be public, even asking Taylor to go to the Emmys with him, but Taylor wants to keep her private life private. Tom’s need for their relationship to be so public so quickly makes her uncomfortable. She tried to be okay with it in the beginning but fears he is in love with the idea of her and not falling in love with her for the right reasons. Taylor is an independent young woman and doesn’t feel like she needs a boyfriend to make her feel complete.

Radar's sources seemed to agree, reporting that the couple is in "crisis mode" (who are they, FEMA?). Their sources blabbed, "Tom can’t deal with being a laughing stock and has told Taylor he’s done unless there’s a 360-degree change on her part." Hopefully the source knows a little bit more about their relationship than about the difference between 360- and 180-degrees (Psst, that's full circle, you mean 180).

The source added, "It’s become a total charade and Tom is sick of being treated like a glorified escort. . . Tom is just done with it. It bothers him so much that they’ve become known as this fauxmance laughingstock."

Sure, that definitely sounds like the kind of stuff a 35-year-old fairly well-respected actor would say, and who better to say it to than a friend trustworthy enough to immediately turn around and sell information to tabloids.

On the other hand, if it is true that Hiddleswift is on the rocks, perhaps someone should ask him if he knows he's dating a woman almost 10 years younger than him who just got out of a serious relationship by way of a somewhat nasty breakup. In other words, maybe chill out a bit, old chap.

Moms are loving this new mom who posed in a diaper an hour after giving birth.

Moms on Facebook are going nuts over this photo of a new mom wearing a diaper just an hour after she gave birth. In 2016, the internet loves real, and this is as real as it gets.

One hour after giving birth... looks stunning... in a nappy :)

Posted by Melissa Jean Photography (Australia) on Sunday, July 17, 2016

The photo was taken by Australian photographer Melissa Jean, who travels the world photographing moms during the various stages of pregnancy and childbirth. The new mom, named Alyce, looks absolutely awesome. Others apparently agree. The photo has gone viral and received dozens of comments, many of them from moms who support the idea of wearing a diaper post-birth.

"Go mumma!!!! She looks absolutely amazing, nappy and all!" wrote one commenter. Others were envious, but still supportive: "Jealous!!!!!! They never offered me no cool nappies only mega pads."

Moms deserve to wear whatever the hell they want to be as comfortable as possible after pushing a baby out of their body (or really, any time). If mommy diapers do the trick, then:

You get a diaper! And you get a diaper! You all get diapers!!!

Married couple discovers they each took the same corny photo 20 years before meeting.

A couple lame tourist photos became the centerpiece of one couple's not-lame wedding after they discovered they had each posed for the same photo, independently, about 20 years before they met.

Most of the commenters on the post loved oobeedoobenubi's serendipitous photos from Hershey, PA. He and his future-wife discovered the coincidence after flipping through each other's family photos "a few weeks into meeting" one another.

But because it's the internet, plenty of others wanted to point out how it's NOT incredible and NOT that cool, because the couple lived in a similar part of the world.

Of course they would have both visited Hershey's Chocolate World. Of course they each would have taken this classic photo.

Another commenter asked: "Did you, uh, 'visit the hershey factory' on your wedding night?"

And that's why you don't invite internet commenters to your wedding.

Gretchen Carlson settles sexual harassment lawsuit with Fox News for $20 million.

21st Century Fox Corporation, the parent company of Fox News, revealed on Tuesday that they've reached a settlement in the lawsuit filed against them by former news anchor Gretchen Carlson. On July 6, Carlson sued the corporation, alleging that then-network chairman (and Humpty Dumpty look-alike) Roger Ailes had sexually harassed her.

Ailes, who vehemently denied Carlson's claim, as well as those of at least 20 other women who came forward with allegations of sexual harassment at his hands, resigned on July 21.

"I'm ready to move on to the next chapter of my life..." – link in bio.

Someone briefed on the settlement told the New York Times that Carlson was awarded $20 million, which basically means the network is admitting that some shady shit did in fact go down. In addition to the money, Carlson also received a formal apology from the company. The company issued the following statement on their website:

21st Century Fox is pleased to announce that it has settled Gretchen Carlson’s lawsuit. During her tenure at Fox News, Gretchen exhibited the highest standards of journalism and professionalism. She developed a loyal audience and was a daily source of information for many Americans. We are proud that she was part of the Fox News team. We sincerely regret and apologize for the fact that Gretchen was not treated with the respect and dignity that she and all of our colleagues deserve.

A statement from Carlson also appears on their website, reading:

I am gratified that 21st Century Fox took decisive action after I filed my Complaint. I’m ready to move on to the next chapter of my life in which I will redouble my efforts to empower women in the workplace. I want to thank all the brave women who came forward to tell their own stories and the many people across the country who embraced and supported me in their #StandWithGretchen. All women deserve a dignified and respectful workplace in which talent, hard work and loyalty are recognized, revered and rewarded.

Here are the jokes Ann Coulter rejected in favor of her own "jokes" at the Rob Lowe roast.

Comedy Central aired the Roast of Rob Lowe on Labor Day, which featured, among others: Ralph Macchio, Peyton Manning, Pete Davidson, Jimmy Carr, David Spade, and ultra-conservative angry stick figure Ann Coulter. Coulter is absolutely hilarious, but not usually on purpose, so it's surprising that she'd choose her own material over jokes offered to her by roast writer Mike Lawrence. That's exactly what she did, though, and it was may not have been the best choice, considering Lowe's comment, "After seeing your set tonight, we’ve seen the first bombing you can’t blame on a Muslim." Awww… if she had feelings, they might have been hurt.

So since the vulture named Ann Coulter didn't use his proffered jokes, Lawrence shared a few of them with another Vulture (the website):

1. "Peyton Manning is a model citizen and his forehead is a model for the wall that Trump’s going to put between the U.S. and Mexico."

2. "Ralph Macchio's first-ever credit was in the movie Up the Academy, playing a character called Chooch Bambalazi. Are you serious? Even Donald Trump thinks it’s too racist to call a wop Chooch Bambalazi."

3. "That would be like if Jeff Ross’s first credit was a character called Mosha Gefilte Fish Streisand Ziegmilliaberg. And before you ask Jeff, I wouldn’t fuck you with Hillary Clinton’s dick."

4. "Rob Lowe is like America: He hasn’t been great since Reagan was president, and unemployment is becoming more and more of a problem for him."

5. "Giving you a roast is the worst decision Comedy Central’s made since they replaced Jon Stewart with a South African child. That’s a Trevor Noah joke, the one immigrant I’m most excited to see deported. Am I white, people? Am I white?"

'Brokeback Mountain' almost had more sex.

Remember Brokeback Mountain? You know, the iconic gay film that should have won the Oscar for Best Picture? (Still hating you, Crash.) Well, legendary Spanish director Pedro Almodóvar was originally slated to direct it, and he says his version would have included a ton more animalistic sex. Yeah, we knew that would get your attention.

Almodóvar, director of All About My Mother, Volver, and Talk to Her, among many other films, told The Empire Film Podcast that his version of Brokeback would have featured...

More sex, more sex ― and this is not gratuitous. Annie Proulx’s story is about a physical relationship, an animal relation... So sex is necessary, because it is the body of the story. So I always had the image... these two guys start making love to each other like the animals they were taking care of.

Almodóvar, an openly gay director whose films often feature explicit gay sexuality — you're welcome for this— said that his comments aren't intended to throw shade on Ang Lee, who went on to win an Oscar for directing the film. He described Lee's work on the film as, "incredible."

Mr. Almodóvar, if you're reading this, we will gladly donate to a GoFundMe for you to remake Brokeback Mountain with your animalistic vision.

Human amusement company Disney to fingerprint all homo sapiens over age 3 entering their parks.

Human entertainment conglomerate Disney will begin fingerprinting humans ages 3-9 who wish to enter the company's many amusement parks. This is an expansion of the media entity's current biometric tracking program, which currently only amasses the unique prints of homo sapiens from the ripe age of 10 and up. This is expected to cut down on families exchanging under-10 passes, giving some juvenile humans un-purchased fun.

The company, which has spent a century honing the art of exciting the brain's pleasure centers through both audio-visual movies and kinetic roller coasters, assured its skittish mammalian customers that it does not retain this information. Instead, the images are converted to a series of numbers only Disney can understand. If this upsets the human offspring's parents, they can opt to use their own fingerprints a second time instead, as long as they accompany their broodling every time they enter the park.

Tom Cruise allegedly made Katie Holmes sign a weird dating contract to leave their marriage.

All this time, we thought they were just being discreet.

According to Radar, the main reason Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx have kept their purported relationship under wraps is that she's technically not allowed to date (publicly, anyway) until 2017. A source claims that as part of her divorce from Tom Cruise, she agreed to a clause prohibiting her from having a relationship out in the open for five whole years.

#happyweekend ❤️ #gratitude #joy #lastdaysofsummer #nyc

A photo posted by Katie Holmes (@katieholmes212) on

According to the source, the clause "prevents her from embarrassing Tom in various ways, like talking about him or Scientology, or publicly dating another man for five years after the divorce." The source clarified:

She’s allowed to date, but she cannot do so in a public fashion, and she’s not supposed to let any boyfriend near their daughter, Suri. Katie wanted out of the marriage so badly, she agreed to the terms—and got $4.8 million in child support, plus another $5 million for herself." If she breaks the rules, she has to give back the money.

Radar claims that Holmes and Foxx have been an item since 2013. That rumor was seemingly confirmed by Real Housewives of Atlanta star and Foxx friend Claudia Jordan when she claimed that the couple was "really happy," a statement she later took back, saying she "misspoke." Uh-huh.

Foxx and Holmes were seen together in August at a Barbra Streisand concert, but due to security, no photos were taken, so that doesn't really count as public. The source said, "At this point, Tom doesn’t care much what Katie does. But he wouldn’t mind getting his $5 million back!"
