Plus size model Iskra Lawrence's own family didn't recognize her in retouched photo spreads.

Plus size model Iskra Lawrence is perfectly gorgeous without any retouching, as her Photoshop-free campaign with the lingerie line Aerie shows. But that hasn't stopped some photographers from retouching her beyond recognition, she told Seventeen.

✨forgot to post this🐯 #iskralawrence #everyBODYisbeautiful hair n makeup by @abrahamsprinkle 💁

Said Lawrence:

I remember I took an editorial and I was so excited. I got the pictures back and I looked in the magazine, and I was like, "Oh my gosh!" My arms were half their size and I had a thigh gap magically and all these crazy things. My family went out and tried to find my pictures in the magazines, but no one could recognize me.

I tested with a photographer about a year ago and loved the pictures at the shoot. He sent me the pictures two weeks after and he retouched the hell out of them. I said to him, "I don't feel like I can use these. Can you send me the raw files?" and he was like, "No, I'm not comfortable with that, and I was kinda of like, "Oh OK, so you don't think I'm good enough unretouched?"

As a reminder, this is what Iskra Lawrence looks like without any retouching:

Science is getting closer to finding a cure for HIV.

According to a report published in The Sunday Times, British scientists are closer than ever to finding a cure for HIV after a promising clinical trial eliminated the virus completely from one man's system. The 44-year-old is the first of 50 people to undergo the trial.

The new therapy works in two stages. In the first stage, a vaccine helps the body to identify and eliminate HIV-infected cells. In the second stage, a new drug called Vorinostat activates dormant T-cells, making them recognizable to the immune system. The current therapy used for HIV+ patients is not able to spot inactive T-cells.

The man, who is choosing to remain anonymous, told The Sunday Times, "It would be great if a cure has happened. My last blood test was a couple of weeks ago and there is no detectable virus."

He went on to say, "I took part in the trial to help others as well as myself. It would be a massive achievement if, after all these years, something is found to cure people of this disease. The fact that I was a part of that would be incredible."

Currently, about 37 million people worldwide are infected with HIV. Only one patient, Timothy Brown, has ever been cured. He received a stem cell transplant from a patient with natural immunity in 2008.

Man. Science is so cool.

Grocery store has perfect response to woman's viral rant about vegan cheese.

A recent customer at Sainsbury's, a supermarket chain in the UK, had a tantrum some feedback for the store about the new line of coconut milk-based "Free From" vegan cheese they were carrying. It's not that the unidentified woman was necessarily upset that the store was stocking the product, she was just angry that the technically cheese-less cheese was still being called cheese.

Has anyone else seen the new vegan friendly Gary?

Posted by Vegan Life Magazine on Thursday, September 29, 2016

In her missive post on the store's Facebook wall, the enraged customer wrote:

CHEESE.

If you’re going to be a vegan don’t call your vegan cheese BECAUSE IT’S NOT CHEESE!!!!! As a real cheese fan myself it’s really annoyed me that Sainsbury's have brought out a "Vegan Cheese" made with COCONUTS. CHEESE IS NOT MADE WITH COCONUTS. Call it Gary or something don’t call it Cheese because IT’S NOT CHEESE!!!!!! Just to recap, in case you have forgotten --- cheese is a delicious food made mostly from the milk of cows but also other animals including sheep, goats, buffalo, reindeer, camels and yaks. Around 4000 years ago people have started to breed animals and process their milk. That's when the cheese was born. So Sainburys can F off. Go enjoy your cheese less life. Don't try to make up a substitute cheese and call it cheese because it's not and you've decided your way of life. It's ridiculous that they've used the word cheese!!! Don't come to my Cheese and Wine Parties if you're going to eat COCONUT CHEESE. (If you're allergic to cheese I feel for you) If you're a Vegan because you've chosen to be and not that you're allergic I'm not interested in your views about vegan cheese or that 'eating products from animals is bad.'

Yeah! Listen up, vegans, you are hereby formally uninvited from attending any and all of this angry person's super fun sounding Whine and Cheese parties, with your stupid coconut cheese and your stupid views on sustainability and your crap morals, all right?

But here's the best part—Sainbury's, ever responsive to their patrons' concerns, took the customer's advice and proudly announced their new line of Gary.

Ah, that wonderful moment when you realize that a supermarket's customer service department has a sense of humor.

*LIVE from the Bute Island Foods Creamery* Line manager, Gary, is so busy he's even making Gary for everyone on Saturday!! Smile and say "Gary" :) Sainsbury's #vegangary #vegan #vegancheese

Posted by Bute Island Foods on Saturday, October 1, 2016

Then someone started a Facebook group called "It's not Vegan Cheese, it's Gary," and started posting pictures and memes like this:

So from now on, vegans, it's not "cheese," it's "Gary." God only knows what you're going to call your butter, though.

Blac Chyna and Rob Kardashian's baby registry seems to indicate they're having a real baby.

Rob Kardashian may not have wanted a girl, but according to his and partner Blac Chyna's registry for their baby shower Sunday, he definitely wants some cool baby shit.

Rob and Chyna 👶🏽 E!

A photo posted by Blac Chyna (@blacchyna) on

According to insiders at US Weekly, among the presents the couple's friends and family are on the hook for are:

- a $350 touch-screen video monitor

- a separate Motorola baby monitor

- an electric bottle and food warmer

- a $370 stroller

- a pregnancy announcement chalkboard

-a $270 breast pump (so you know at least someone is going to be drinking out of her breasts)

- and an "adorable baby beanie" (they don't say which one, but if it is #adoreable we have a feeling it's this one.)

This list is shockingly practical considering the media circus the baby is being born into, but maybe that's because when your family is hooked up with a ton of product placement deals, you don't have to ask your friends for gold-trimmed baby shoes. You just get them.

And thanks @giuseppezanottidesign for these fly sneaks ‼️ my baby gonna be fly 😍😩😍💙 CANT WAIT

Kim Kardashian was bound, gagged, and left begging for her life during the Paris robbery.

It looks like Kim Kardarshian's robbery at gunpoint over the weekend was even more traumatic than it initially sounded, according to a TMZ report. The reality show star was reportedly bound with handcuffs and gagged with tape by five gunman dressed as police officers, then forcibly put in her bathtub while the men raided her apartment. "We're told Kim begged them to spare her life, telling them she had babies at home," TMZ wrote.

This comes less than a week after Kardashian was molested by someone calling himself a "prankster," by the way. But your sex tape joke comments on our articles about this situation are hilarious, don't worry!

Reese Witherspoon is as excited as anyone should be to see Dolly Parton.

Reese Witherspoon, who seems like way more fun than the majority of people, saw Dolly Parton at the Hollywood Bowl yesterday and she was as excited as anyone should be to see Dolly Parton. Dolly is basically royalty and worthy of high levels of excitement. Witherspoon didn't let us down.

Can't contain our excitement ... @dollyparton here we come!!! 😍🎵👸🏼 #PureAndSimpleTour #HollywoodBowl

"Can't contain our excitement," she wrote. Wait was she definitely excited though?

It's written all over my face, couldn't be happier at the #DollywoodBowl!! 💖 @dollyparton #PureAndSimpleTour

A photo posted by Reese Witherspoon (@reesewitherspoon) on

Sure seems like it. She literally could not be happier. It would be physically impossible.

"Doesn't get much better than this!" she wrote. Oh, but it does though! Because when you're Reese Witherspoon, you don't leave a Dolly Parton concert without meeting Dolly backstage. And snapping a pic with her.

No one could ever accuse Reese Witherspoon of taking this experience for granted.

The 'Actress Roundtable' sketch on 'SNL' this weekend is the funniest take on Hollywood sexism.

Being an actress in Hollywood seems really, really hard. But hey, at least studio execs aren't pumping young actresses with drugs anymore. (Seriously, it's a joke in this SNL sketch, but it's not that far from the truth.) SNL took on the topic of women in Hollywood with an "Actress Round Table" that features the weirdest Kate McKinnon performance since last year's "Alien Abduction" sketch.

I could honestly listen to McKinnon say, "Little Peter No No" all day.

Mindy Kaling's brother is a ginormous tool.

In what is almost certainly a contrived plot to promote his book, Mindy Kaling's brother, Vijay Jojo Chockal-Ingam, gave the New York Post some extremely nasty quotes about his more successful sister.

Headlines do not call her Vijay Jojo Chockal-Ingam's sister.

"She tried to sabotage the book, and that's not acceptable," said Chokal-Ingam. This is apparently in reference to a Kaling quote, paradoxically featured on the cover of the memoir, that says, "This book will bring shame on our family."

Chockal-Ingam told the Post that he reached out to his sister to say, "You play a slut on national TV, and you think this [book] will bring shame on the family?"

In The Mindy Project, Kaling plays a gynecologist who also sometimes goes on dates.

Chockal-Ingam's book, "Almost Black: The True Story of How I Got Into Medical School by Pretending To Be Black," details a scam he ran to take advantage of affirmative action.

In his comments to the New York Post, Chockal-Ingam also attacked his sister for trying to deny her ex-boyfriend's sister from getting professional representation. "My sister has engineered similar public and private plots against her many frenemies in Hollywood," he said.

Here's looking forward to the unauthorized biography of Mindy Kaling, as told by her obnoxious brother, coming to bookshelves way too soon.

The internet's best gif-makers took turns editing Taylor Swift's 'Shake It Off' into a weird masterpiece.

One of my favorite places online is r/HighQualityGifs, where talented people with visual effects software and way too much free time compete to create new, high-res gifs from TV and movies. Reposts are forbidden and creativity (creative use of text, funny editing, memes) is a must, and a small community of die-hards keeps the place running.

Well, the club cooperated to turn Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off" into one giant memetacular, with each member transforming their own section of the video into a gif. (See below for each individual gif.) Once the whole thing was giffed and memed by 17 different people, one of the group's moderators put the music back in, and the result is this completely bizarre, 100% internet version of T-Swift's mega hit:

Here's each gif, with credit to each giffer:

This show is apparently so popular it made Netflix crash.

According to Entertainment.ie, if your Netflix account went down on Saturday, you can blame none other than superhero Luke Cage. Damn, we knew Luke Cage was strong, but strong enough to break Netflix?

Sweet Christmas, indeed.

Parts of the US, the UK, and Ireland reported that Netflix was down for about two and a half hours on October 1st, just as many users were trying to watch Marvel's highly anticipated new series, Luke Cage.

People were none too happy that they couldn't watch several consecutive hours of Luke Cage saving Harlem from the dastardly crime boss Cornell 'Cottonmouth' Stokes. And so, they decided to air their grievances on a website that was actually working—Twitter.

Eventually the folks on Netflix got the site up and running so people could continue to not move from their couches and enjoy hours of binging on that Luke Cage goodness.

7 things you should at least pretend to know today.

The only thing worse than a Monday is reading through lots of boring news on a Monday. So here are the quick and dirty news highlights from today, October 3rd, 2016.

1. Toyota made a robot baby to help aging Japanese women feel maternal.

Because nothing will make you feel more like a mother than the regret you feel from bringing home a tiny monster.

2. Kim Kardashian was held up at gunpoint and robbed of millions of dollars' worth of jewelry in Paris.

"Oh yeah, me too, me too," said Ryan Lochte.

3. The New York attorney general ordered Donald Trump's charity to immediately stop fundraising.

Now he can finally stop donating weight loss tips to Rosie O'Donnell.

4. A judge is ordering Tori Spelling to pay her $39,000 American Express Bill.

To earn the money, she's going to star in a new show called Beverly Hills 9021-Oh sh*t laws apply to me.

5. The discount superstore Costco was ordered to pay $5.5M for selling fake Tiffany & Co. rings.

Customers were surprisingly not tipped by the fact that the rings were packaged in 10 gallon containers of mayo.

6. At 113, the world's oldest man celebrated his bar mitzvah.

Next up: getting his first chest hair.

7. October 3rd (today) is Mean Girls Day.

Or as Taylor Swift likes to call it, "Monday."

This marriage proposal literally swept a woman off her feet.

Wedding proposals don't always go as planned. Reyna Renteria from Mexico City was so shocked when her boyfriend, Germán Benítez Giles, proposed to her that she fainted right to the floor. This was all caught on camera, of course, and a lot of people—4.4 million to be exact—have already watched the moment she bit the dust.

Porque usted lo pidió a base de likes!!!! Don't worry, she is okay. And when she woke up, she said yes! It's starting to seem like she really likes this guy.

The fainting bride-to-be apparently has a good sense of humor about the whole thing, because she predicted the video of her fainting would get a lot of traction and decided to share it anyway. But first she posted a brief caveat.

Y ahora tengo miedo..... pero de que me corten la mano.... Desventajas de mi insegura CDMX 󾌴󾌴 En breve les compartiré...

Soon I'll share the video of the "moment" so you can laugh at my faint... and destroy me with meme after meme. I’m excited, incredulous, shocked but happy and sure.

This lady knows that true love is worth becoming a meme for.

Brody Jenner apologizes for that Black Lives Matter post nobody asked for.

0
0

There was a lot going on last week, none of which prompted anyone in America to think "What does Brody Jenner, son of Caitlyn Jenner, think about the Black Lives Matter movement??" And yet he weighed in, a mistake which for he has now apologized. "I realize that my comments weren't thoughtful or substantiated," said the reality star in a lengthy Instagram post.

Brody Jenner has learned some things.

Last week, the 33-year-old reality star (#tbt The Hills) reposted a comment his friend made about Keith Lamont Scott, a black man who was fatally shot by a cop in Charlotte, North Carolina, last month.

In the post, his friend Taylor Mosher, wrote:

I normally don't speak about this type of stuff, but this is just ridiculous. I can't even watch the news anymore without getting pissed off. This has nothing to do with race. White, black, brown, any color...if you have an officer of the law telling you to exit your vehicle (or do anything for that matter)...you comply. And not only do you comply, but you do so willingly and follow directions completely. And why in the world would you exit that vehicle with a weapon in hand (allegedly?!) That makes no sense! And if, let's just say, you DON'T have a gun, why would you not put your hands up in the air and state 'I do not have a gun' so that the officers can clearly see that you don't??

Jenner reposted, and has since deleted, the Instagram comment, to which he added "AMEN T!!"

The post sparked an internet backlash, with many pointing out that the message is at best ignorant and misinformed and at worst straight up racist.

Others pointed out Jenner's white privilege.

While others echoed my response of uh, nobody asked you.

To his credit, Jenner realized he was wrong and apologized on Instagram, alongside an image of a man (presumably him) throwing two peace signs up into the sky.

The message reads:

After taking some time to reflect and learn a lot over the last few days, I want to address my careless and misguided posts last weekend. Having done more research into the Black Lives Matter movement, including reading a very informative editorial by @lmanisviney, I realize that my comments weren't thoughtful or substantiated. I spoke out of turn on a subject I wasn't particularly educated on. It was never my intention to exacerbate an already contentious situation in our country. I am a firm supporter of the African American community and I am grateful that my mistake allowed me the opportunity to increase my own awareness of Black Lives Matter, and hope that going forward we can continue this conversation in a positive and peaceful way.

Congrats to Brody Jenner for evolving as a human. If only everyone was as quick to recognize their own ignorance.
