Taylor Swift tops her ex-boyfriend to become the highest earning 20-something celeb in the world.

Forbesjust released their annual list of the 30 highest-paid celebs under 30 years of age, and Taylor Swift has done it: she made $170 million dollars this year, a larger salary than any other entertainer in her age bracket.

Even more satisfying for her is the fact that second place on this list is none other than One Direction. Yeah, somehow a group of four people has the number two spot on the list of richest entertainers. One of those four dudes is Harry Styles, Swift's ex-boyfriend as of 2013.

One Direction collected about $60 million less than Swift, and presumably they have to split that up between themselves (unless they just agree it should all go to Niall).

Swift made most of this year's harvest on her 1989 album sales and world tour, along with a long line of endorsement deals.

Although the Styles split isn't quite as fresh as, say, Hiddlesplit, it must be nice when the whole world talks about how much more money you make than your ex. Maybe it makes up for all the other things they talk about.

Justin Timberlake said something about Mandy Moore's feet that 'scarred her emotionally.'

Last night on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Mandy Moore recalled a comment Justin Timberlake made to her when she was 15 that pretty much scarred her for life.

Back in the day, Moore toured with both *NSYNC and The Backstreet Boys, which was every 15-year-old girl's ultimate fantasy besides getting her braces off. Moore revealed that although they toured together, she didn't necessarily spend a lot of time with the boy bands, so when she finally got the chance to connect with the then ramen-noodle haired Justin Timberlake, she was really excited. That is, until he said this.

OUCH.

Talk about "tearing up" someone's heart.

Outraged actress cannot believe her mother just got arrested over a library book.

It sounds like a cautionary tale a librarian might fabricate, but Tika Sumpter's mother was actually arrested for not paying the late fee on an overdue library book.

Yes, really.

Sumpter, who has appeared on Gossip Girl and who played Michelle Obama in the movie Southside With You, tweeted that her mother was issued a warrant for arrest for failing to pay the late dues on a book she borrowed from a library in North Carolina.

Sumpter is calling the warrant a "legal scam," and that the arrest was made in order for the state to collect money through court fees and bail.

Sumpter noted that her mother is no longer wanted by the state, and even the officers who were working at the precinct found the whole thing ridiculous. Additionally, executing the warrant almost definitely costs more than the $10 late fee.

And the worst part of all is that according to Sumpter, her mother did return the library book and someone just forgot to put it in the system. Good God.

Sumpter is now urging people to vote in local elections in hopes that those who encourage things like arrest warrants over library books get voted out of office.

Hey, the library should just be glad that people are still utilizing it, even though people may now think twice before checking out a book.

Some other guy named Mike Pence has a hilarious response for his confused Twitter trolls.

A 49-year-old software engineer living in Florida has exactly one thing in common with Vice President-elect Mike Pence. His name is also Mike Pence.

In what probably felt great at the time, this other Pence snagged the Twitter handle @MikePence back in 2007. That left the Indiana Governor no choice but to take @Mike_Pence.

Twitter users—not usually known for their carefully-measured fact checking (especially when they're furious over a politician's stance on abortion or global warming)—have been tweeting incessantly and accidentally at the software engineer.

Obviously, tweets like this were meant for @Mike_Pence or @GovPenceIN, but that doesn't make software Mike Pence's mentions any less toxic. Nor does he want to create a new Twitter identity, due to the"trove of valued contacts from [his] professional life" that he's collected on the platform.

Luckily, @MikePence has a good sense of humor, and an even better command of memes. He also likes Office Space.

In case you've deprived yourself of this classic film, the above is a character named Michael Bolton, wondering why he should have to change his name, when its the other Michael Bolton that sucks.

Hard to imagine a better way to play this, Other Mike Pence.

To quote another classic, you are the Pence America needs, but not the one it deserves.

A guy used a drone to catch his wife in the act (the act of cheating).

When a man named Yaog (or with a YouTube channel named Yaog) suspected that his wife of 18 years was cheating on him, he tried to follow her around. And when that didn't work, Yaog took to the skies.

Yup, Yaog used military technology to follow his wife to the local CVS parking lot, where the romantic rendezvous would begin. As you can see from this video, he freaks the F out. A fully screaming, full stop freak out.

Poor guy had to learn this way, but I'm worried what he'll do with the drone.

He'll have to start shopping at Walgreens now instead. CVS will be too traumatizing.

Ivanka Trump is sorry she’s using her dad’s presidency to sell her stuff.

After the Trump family appeared on 60 Minutes last week, Ivanka's fashion brand sent out an email promoting the bracelet she wore during the interview to fashion writers. The email was sent out as a "style alert" and said the bracelet was Ivanka's “favorite bangle from the Metropolis Collection.”

The move to promote the bracelet drew criticism, as many thought it further blurred the lines between the Trump family's business interests and Donald Trump's new position as president.

In a statement to ABC News, Ivanka Trump brand president Abigail Klem said that the email was the mistake of a "well-intentioned" employee "who, like many of us, is still making adjustments post-election."

"We are proactively discussing new policies and procedures with all of our partners going forward," the statement continued.

Well, let's hope that's the end of that. At least until we all find coupons for Trump Steaks in our tax returns.

Tom Hanks cheers up America with a little help from 'Schoolhouse Rock!'

Tom Hanks, of David Pumpkins fame, would like to assure America that we're going to be okay.

The man you fantasize will walk you down the aisle at your wedding was being honored at the Museum of Modern Art and forwent the usual, boring acceptance speech to deliver a message to his 319 million children.

"We are going to be all right. America has been in worst places than we are at right now," he said, before out-dadding himself and breaking into song.

We have this magnificent thing that is in place, it's a magnificent document, and it starts off with these phrases that if you're smart enough, you memorized in school, or, just read it enough so you learned it by heart, or, you kind of watched those things on ABC where they taught you little songs, and the song goes like, [sings] "We the People ... in Order to form a more perfect Union. establish Justice and insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare," and it goes on and on. That. That document is going to protect us, over and over again, whether or not our neighbors preserve and protect and defend it themselves.

Dad goes on to say:

We are going to be all right, because we constantly get to tell the whole world who we are. We constantly get to define ourselves as Americans. We do have the greatest country in the world. We may move at a slow pace, but we do have the greatest country in the world, because we are always moving towards a more perfect Union. That journey never ceases. It never stops. Sometimes, like in a Bruce Springsteen song, one step forward, two steps back. But we still, aggregately, move forward. We, who are a week into wondering what the hell just happened, will continue to move forward. We have to choose to do so. But we will move forward, because if we do not move forward, what is to be said about us?

Dad made a point to send out the link, too.

Read the whole inspiring speech over at Vulture.

Plus, now that we're here, let's revisit Hanksy's pre-election pep talk, from when there was still hope.

Thanks, Dad. Love you.

Suspicious guy spots detail in his GF's sext that immediately confirms his suspicions.

If you've been pushing for an all-phones version of the show Maury, where all the cheating drama happens over text, here's your pilot episode. A guy got a sexy text (often known as a sext) from his girlfriend, away on business in Atlanta. Luckily, this guy was already crazily suspicious, so he immediately started going insane.

Because this man is extremely paranoid (and perhaps completely made up?) he immediately noticed a little detail in the bottom left corner. A suitcase. A smoking gun. A relationship-ending Chekhov's suitcase.

Of course, instead of saying "that's not your suitcase," he instead decided to call the hotel. Creepy and weird, but he did what he had to do, apparently.

Really, these two are probably better off apart anyway. Oh wait, it's not over. The man is still ranting.

Anyway, yeah, this breakup is for the best. But there's nothing greater than a little cheating-sext drama to get you through the middle of the week.

'People' reporter who accused Trump of sexual assault speaks out.

Natasha Stoynoff, the People reporter who last month wrote a harrowing account of Donald Trump allegedly sexually assaulting her in 2005, has spoken out about his presidential win. Like many of us, she was neither expecting nor happy about it.

In a new interview, Stoynoff told People she was “heartbroken” over Hillary Clinton's loss to Trump, "mostly at what the results said about so many Americans and what they were thinking, feeling and believing."

Back in October, Stoynoff, 51, wrote an essay for People in which she described how the now president-elect grabbed and forcibly kissed her at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, where she was covering his first wedding anniversary with wife Melania in December 2005. Trump responded that these accusations were a "lie," but Stoynoff's account was then corroborated by six witnesses. In the weeks leading up the election, the reporter was joined by 11 other women who also came forward to accuse Trump of sexual assault or misconduct throughout his life.

Since Trump's win, Canadian-born Stoynoff said she is “sad but staying hopeful. I have faith in myself to move forward — and in my fellow Americans to band together and aggressively ensure that our laws protecting diversity and human rights not only stay intact but flourish.”

She also said she doesn't regret coming forward. “The hundreds of emails and social media notes and phone calls of support tell me that most Americans want a president who is an honest human being with integrity,” she said. “And that gives me great optimism for the future of our country.”

Let's hope she's right.

Megyn Kelly doesn't want to be called a feminist because it's 'alienating.'

Fox News reporter Megyn Kelly unexpectedly emerged from the 2016 presidential race as beacon of girl-power in one of the most misogyny-laden elections in recent memory— but don't call her a feminist.

In a recent interview forThe Hollywood Reporter, Kelly addressed sexual harassment in the work place, motherhood, and her feud with Donald Trump all with her signature "no-nonsense" attitude. When asked if she subscribes to feminism, this is what Kelly had to say.

I find it's very alienating to at least half of the women in the country. It has just come to include in particular a pro-choice agenda, and that's no place a journalist should be going.

Kelly found herself in the middle of the discussion involving Trump's treatment toward women when asking him about his misogynist past during the first Republican presidential debate in 2015. When Trump responded days later by saying that Kelly had "blood coming out of her eyes–Blood coming out of her wherever," Megyn found herself in a feud with the business man turned politician.

Kelly has become a conservative pariah of sorts, even receiving threats from Trump's lawyer Michael Cohen and former campaign manager turned CNN correspondent Corey Lewandowski. Of course, some of the most public insults came from the President-Elect himself.

However, through her criticism of Trump as well as her public fight against Roger Ailes (the former Fox News head who she claims sexually assaulted her), Kelly won the respect of many liberals despite her right-leaning views.

Her new memoir Settle For More details her journey from child living in the Albany suburbs to prominent journalist. You can read her entire interview with The Hollywood Reporter here.

Miley's little sis Noah Cyrus' first single sounds a lot like Miley.

Watch out music world, there's a new Cyrus in town. Miley Cyrus' 16-year-old little sis, Noah just released her first single. The song is called "Make Me (Cry)," and also features singer-songwriter Labrinth. Noah has tried her hand at acting before, but this is her first foray into music. And I have to say - the song's pretty good. Give it a listen for yourself.

You can definitely tell Noah and Miley are related. Noah's voice is eerily reminiscent of a post-Hannah Montana, "See You Again"-era Miley.

Something tells us Noah is here to stay.

Racist flyers at universities tell white women not to date black men, in post-Trump hate crime of the day.

0
0

The week since the election of Donald Trump has seen outbursts of heinous hate crimes against African Americans, Latinos, Muslims, Jews, and LGBTQ people.

A horrifically racist flyer titled "Why White Women Shouldn't Date Black Men" was distributed Saturday morning in residence hall stairwells at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, featuring propaganda touted by the alt-right, the army of Internet trolls that insists "white identity" is under attack in the United States.

The flyer features racist talking points from alt-right propaganda about black men, saying "He's much more likely to abuse you" and "your kids probably won't be smart."

The flyer directs people to “Take the Red Pill and meet the Alt-Right at RadixJournal.com,” the white nationalist website run by Richard Spencer. ("The Red Pill" is a reference to The Matrix and is used as a metaphor for liberal indoctrination.)

Fun fact: Twitter recently suspended the accounts of both Radix and Spencer because of hate speech. The Cut also reports that the flyers appeared at the University of Oklahoma on Monday and the University of Michigan earlier in September.

SMU's campus paper says that the university condemned the hateful propaganda and that students are circulating this flyer in response.

President-elect Trump has done nothing to condemn the actions that are being perpetrated by his supporters—and the followers of his Alt-Right Hand Man—other than a simple "Stop it!"

Alas, the "Stop it!" did not stop it.

Here's the one good reason why Frank Ocean won't win a Grammy next year.

0
0

Frank Ocean won two Grammys in 2013, but despite his highly anticipated recent efforts, Endless and Blonde, Ocean won't win any more in 2017. That's because he refused to submit his work to the Grammys organization as a protest against what he sees as a dated system that rarely rewards black artists.

"That institution certainly has nostalgic importance. It just doesn't seem to be representing very well for people who come form where I come from and hold down what I hold down," said Ocean in an interview with the New York Times.

"I think the infrastructure of the awarding system and the nomination system and screening system is dated."

Referencing the NFL quarterback who's made headlines in the past months for protesting the national anthem at football games, Ocean said:

"I'd rather this be my Colin Kaepernick moment for the Grammys than sit there in the audience."

Colin Kaepernick, who has chosen to sit during the national anthem.

This will likely come as a shock to Kanye West, who said he would protest the Grammys himself if Ocean didn't get a nomination.

"I'll tell you this right now, if his album is not nominated in no categories, I'm not showing up to the Grammys," West told his fans at a concert.

"As artists, we've got to come together to fight the bullshit."

A woman is suing clothing store Zara after finding a dead mouse sewn into her dress.

A woman named Cailey Fiesel is suing the popular clothing store Zara after discovering that a dress she bought came with an unwanted accessory: a dead mouse.

The 24-year-old bought two dresses from a Zara in Greenwich, Connecticut back in July. Then, two weeks later "while at work, she started to notice a disturbingly pungent odor," reads a lawsuit Feisel has filed against the company. "As the day went on, Ms. Fiesel started to notice what felt like a loose string from her dress rubbing against her leg...without giving it much thought she reached down with her hand to try and locate the piece of string that was rubbing against her."

As you've probably guessed, it wasn't a piece of string. And not an itchy tag. Not a rogue safety pin either. Nope. Nope. Nope.

"To her utter shock and disbelief, as she ran her hand over the hem of the dress she felt an unusual bulge and suddenly realized that it was not a string that was rubbing against her leg but was instead a leg rubbing against her leg," reads the lawsuit, which I wish I wrote. "The leg of a dead rodent, that is."

According to the court filing, Cailey Fiesel "jumped out of her chair in shock," and was "paralyzed with fear," then "after removing the dress she found that a dead rodent was sewn into the hem."

This is the point in the story where most of us would throw the dress out the window, exit the building in our underwear and flee society, never to return.

But Fiesel, being the kind of person who shops at Zara, took several photos of the mouse (pics below, scroll if you dare) and filed a lawsuit against the company for emotional distress caused by the incident, as well as large rash that was attributed to "rodent-born disease."

Not all heroes wear capes. But those that do better check the hems if they bought the cape at Zara.

Rest in fashion, little mouse.

Ricky Martin found someone as beautiful as he is to marry.

Pop star and absurdly beautiful human Ricky Martin is engaged, and not to me. And I'm sorry to say, probably not to you either. The 44-year-old singer appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Showyesterday, where he revealed that he had proposed to his boyfriend of more than a year, artist Jwan Yosef, People reports.

He said yes.

“We just got engaged,” gushed the Latin heartthrob (I don't throw around the word "heartthrob" but c'mon) to Ellen. “I proposed. I was really nervous. But I got on my knees and I took out —not a box— I just had them in a little velvet pouch.”

The singer, who is the father of 8-year-old twin sons, opted for a less traditional proposal. “Instead of saying, ‘Will you marry me?’ I said, ‘I got you something,’" Martin said. "I said, ‘I want to spend my life with you.’ And he was like, ‘What is the question?’ [I said] ‘Would you marry me?'”

So what do we know about the man who gets to marry Ricky Martin? Well for one, he looks like this:

https://www.instagram.com/p/BLr4IXAACNO/

HELLO.

As if that's not enough to make him Ricky Martin marriage material, the 31-year-old is also a talented artist. Some people are just mega-blessed I guess. “He’s a conceptual artist, and I’m a collector," said Martin of his beau. "So I started looking for art and I saw his art and I went crazy because I love what he does, really original, and I contacted him — and then I collected him."

I hope these two have a long and happy marriage and that they share many, many photos of themselves on the internet 'till death do us part.

Glow-in-the-dark hair is this year's most beautiful and obnoxious trend.

0
0

Have you heard of glow-in-the-dark hair? These insanely cool neon hairstyles have been increasing in popularity and are now one of the most sought after trends of the year. Even if it the excessive coloring wreaks havoc on your hair, all those split ends are worth it.

The good news is even if you don't hang out under a blacklight all day (and who doesn't, really?) to pull off this style. Neon glowing hair still looks cool even when it is not actively glowing.

But let's be real, it's especially cool when it is glowing like you accidently swapped your shampoo bottle for a bottle of radioactive waste.

💡💡

A photo posted by 🦄Angelica Salek (@angelicasalek) on

Guy Tang, the celebrity colorist who is helping to popularize the trend, is definitely not afraid of bold, bright colors. He also has done "neon rainbow glowing hair," which is apparently different than "phoenix neon glowing hair," but either hairstyle is great if you want to stand out in a crowd or piss off your conservative parents.

But Tang isn't the only one who hopped on the neon hair trend. If you search #neonhair or #neonhairbattle on Instagram, you will see that hundreds of people look like Lisa Frank threw up on their heads (in a good way, of course).

It would be especially cool if you can then style your hair to say "OPEN" or "LIVE GIRLS."

Hair so bright you gotta wear shades.
