Alec Baldwin and his wife Hilaria recently did an interview with the magazine Hola!, in which the It's Complicated star discussed, among other things, his recurring role as Donald Trump on Saturday Night Live. Us Weekly translated parts of the interview, which was printed in Spanish, including Baldwin categorizing the current political climate as a "very, very difficult time in this country."
Of his Trump impression, Baldwin said,
I’m glad people find it funny. . . but at the same time, I think people were very worried about the election. Both sides are very passionate so it’s been a very, very difficult time in this country. I haven’t felt like this in a long, long time. There are bad feelings on both sides, so to have the opportunity to give people a chance to talk and laugh about it is a good thing.
One person who is clearly not laughing about the impression is Donald Trump himself, who has tweeted numerous times that SNL is "biased" and "unwatchable."
In response, Baldwin tweeted to Trump that all he has to do is release his dang tax returns, and he'll stop. Ball's in your court, Trump.
