Cheryl and Tessa Shaw, are mother-daughter gym buddies who inspired the internet with their story, an exciting Biggest Loserand Gilmore Girlscrossover episode.

Mom was 50 years old and 256 lbs, and her daughter was 17 and 183 lbs when they decided to join forces and keep each other motivated to stay healthy. The two took on the GiveIt100 challenge, starting their journey by sticking to 100 days of exercise and healthy eating, and the results are undeniable.

“I’m definitely an emotional eater, and my daughter takes right after me. I don’t want her to have a lifetime of this," Cheryl said, and so the team decided to change their habits together—and they did.

Cheryl lost 42 pounds and Tessa lost 32 pounds. Together that's 74 pounds.

The initial transformation was in 2014, and the team keep up the Mother and Daughter duo Facebook page to show how they're keeping fit, and keeping their fans motivated.

They continue to slay today.

The Shaws even have an epic, Rocky-style training montage.

Yes, part of their fitness routine involves boxing each other, which could do wonders for both weight loss and some healthy, cathartic mother-daughter brawling.

The Shaws have inspired the internet and are now taking to TV, kicking off the year by sharing their story on Good Morning America.

Here's to the ultimate healthy mother-daughter relationship!

Mariah Carey's team desperately explains why her NYE performance was everyone else's fault.

The New Year started with a massive clean up in Mariah Careyland.

On New Year's Day, after Carey's disastrous New Year's Eve performance—and it was really, legendarily, magnificently, awful—a PR rep for Carey defended her client, telling Billboard"she was not 'winging' this moment, and took it very seriously."

Then the bombshell: "A shame that production set her up to fail."

She was suggesting, seemingly, that the production company was happy to watch Carey struggle in exchange for a massively viral moment (which, whether they wanted it or not, they definitely got).

Dick Clark Productions responded to the claims, arguing that the idea they "would ever intentionally compromise the success of any artist is defamatory, outrageous and frankly absurd."

On Sunday, Mariah Carey's manager, Stella Bulochnikov, took to Entertainment Weekly to further point judgey octopus fingers in every direction away from her star.

She blamed the stage manager, who apparently showed up to rehearsal 50 minutes after Carey arrived.

She blamed a "talent executive," who did not listen when Bulochnikov asked him for new "in-ears" when Carey's didn't work after an interview with Ryan Seacrest.

She blamed a second stage manager, who assured her that Carey's "mic pack" would work once they got on stage.

She blamed Mark Shimmel, of Dick Clark Productions, for not cutting the West Coast feed of the disastrous performance.

For this one, it's worth reading her marvelous reenactment of the conversation:

I said, “I want you to cut the West Coast feed.” He calls me back and says, “We can’t do it.” So I’m like, “You would prefer to air a show with technical glitches so you can have a viral moment rather than protect the integrity of your show and Dick Clark Productions?” He said, “We just won’t do it. Do you want to do a joint statement?” And I said, “No, I want you to go f— yourself.”

She also explained how Carey should have handled the situation.

"She should have walked off and thrown the mic at somebody’s head — that would have been a great moment."

So there it is—we all just want to go viral on our own terms.

Mark Hamill pens sweet column in memory of his friend Carrie Fisher.

Carrie Fisher'sStar Wars co-stars are among the many people that have been paying tribute to the late actress over the last week or so. Mark Hamill, aka Luke Skywalker, has already been vocal about her passing on social media, and recently wrote a guest column in The Hollywood Reporter remembering his co-star and friend, Carrie Fisher.

In the column, Mark Hamill recalls the first night he met Carrie Fisher at a dinner set up for them by producers. He remembers being struck by how open and honest she was right from the very start.

She had a way of just being so brutally candid. I’d just met her but it was like talking to a person you’d known for 10 years. She was telling me stuff about her stepfather, about her mom, about Eddie Fisher — it was just harrowing in its detail. I kept thinking, “Should I know this?” I mean, I wouldn’t have shared that with somebody that I had trusted for years and years and years. But she was the opposite. She just sucked you into her world.

Hamill also wrote about his complicated relationship with Fisher. "We ran the gamut over the years, where we were in love with each other, where we hated each other’s guts. 'I’m not speaking to you, you’re such a judgmental, royal brat!' We went through it all. It’s like we were a family."

"Like I say, she was a handful," Hamill continues. "She was high maintenance. But my life would have been so much drabber and less interesting if she hadn’t been the friend that she was."

Twitter troll deletes his account after getting owned by Wendy's.

On January 3, a Twitter troll going by @NHRide (name "Thuggy-D") got into a beef (ouch, sorry) with the official Twitter account of Wendy's and ended up getting burned so bad that he deleted his account altogether. Not bad, Wendy's, not bad.

In a tweet that's since gone viral, writer Parker Molloy includes screengrabs of the exchange between the dude and Wendy's, along with the text "2017 is off to quite a start."

First, Wendy's tweeted about their never-frozen beef, but dude called them liars.

Wendy's stands by their claim, so dude asks how they transport it unfrozen.

Oh, right, refrigerators!

Ouch, pwned by Wendy's!

Poor Thuggy-D! He was so embarrassed he even deleted his account. Maybe he'd like a side of fries with that burn?

Guy's 'recent stomach pain' makes sense once he realizes the doctor was just forgetful.

A 54-year-old man in Vietnam was lucky to get in another car accident. Visiting the hospital after the crash, according to the BBC, an ultrasound revealed a strange object sitting near his colon.

It was a six-inch pair of surgical scissors.

Ma Van Nhat thinks the scissors have been there since 1998, when he visited a hospital after another car accident.

Apparently, "he had noticed nothing since that time apart from some recent stomach pain."

After discovering the now-identified object in an ultrasound, special surgeons arrived at the hospital to help remove them. Mr. Ma apparently is no worse off after the surgery, and will leave the hospital soon.

No word on whether he'll get to keep a bloody souvenir for future arts and crafts.

My resolution for 2017 is to appreciate every single moment until Inauguration Day.

Here's the sweet reason George Michael decided to fund a stranger's IVF treatment.

Good guy George Michael is responsible for babies everywhere, and not just because of his music. After hearing Jo Maidment's story of her fertility troubles on morning TV, the late George Michael anonymously donated thousands of pounds for her to undergo IVF treatment.

A truly generous dude, Michael felt motivated to do something after hearing the story. And while most of us only have the means to tweet or talk about it, Michael paid it forward.

The singer identified himself at first as a "businessman," and after the treatment, Maidment gave birth to her daughter Betsy in 2012.

He chose to help her bring life.

“I came on in 2010, and I was in contact with Denise [Robertson] who also felt very strongly about it, so that’s why we came on to talk about it,” Maidment explained on ITV this morning, “And I was home for two days and got a phone call from a PA saying a businessman would like to donate some money for one cycle of IVF for you. I didn’t believe it at first… And it took me a good few days to respond because that wasn’t what I came on the show for, I wanted to help other people in my position. But then we agreed to it, because [the PA] said it was what this particular man wanted.”

Maidment had a long journey to having a baby. When she miscarried her first pregnancy, after her first treatment, she received flowers from her anonymous donor, but frozen eggs from that first cycle later helped her conceive Betsy in 2012.

Jo and Betsy in 2012.

“It was a couple of days after we came home with Betsy and we had loads of cards and flowers, and there was a massive bouquet of flowers that came and I read the card that said, ‘Congratulations to you both. Lots of love to Betsy. Love from Michelle and George Michael (AKA Anonymous) xx,'” she said, “Me and my husband read it hundreds of times to believe it.”

"Congratulations to you both. Lots of love to Betsy. Love from Michelle [the PA] & George Michael (A.K.A. Anonymous) xx"

Following Michael's death, British TV host Richard Osman revealed that the late singer also paid for another woman's treatment.

“Betsy is now four and a half,” Maidment told ITV. “I was really upset when I found out [George had died] because I can never thank him personally and he never got to meet her. Betsy will know when she’s old enough.”

Beauty blogger explains why it's important for her to be glam during chemo.

Amanda Ramirez is a 22-year-old beauty blogger who is kicking cancer's ass and looking glam as hell while doing it. Ramirez was diagnosed with stage 3 Hodgkin's Lymphoma on August 23rd, 2016. Instead of letting her diagnosis get her down, she is continuing to do what she loves by pursuing her love of makeup and posting her looks on her Instagram page, even if it's from a hospital.

Fatty but a baddie 😇✨

According toPeople, Ramirez had a large following on Instagram prior to her diagnosis, and instead of slowing down after she started chemo, she continued to post selfies to keep her spirits up. She often can be seen wearing a full face of makeup, right down to perfectly drawn-on brows and a bold lip, despite enduring rigorous and painful cancer treatments.

Beginning of the year and now, everything that I endured this year was a blessing and I'm looking forward to 2017. 🌟

"When you’re going through surgeries, it’s something crazy and different every day. That’s why I prefer to do my makeup through chemo — it makes me feel better," Ramirez tells People. "I want to feel like myself. When people get sick they cower, and it makes them feel like less of a person. Some people drown in sadness, and I don’t want to be like that."

Why you this beat in the hospital?! Cus hoe I gotta shine during and after chemo 💅🏽 #fuckcancer

"I think vulnerability is a beautiful thing because when you’re vulnerable, people can relate. I wanted my Instagram to be a safe space where if they’re going through something I can uplift them," adds the Compton, California resident. She is currently paying for her cancer treatments through a GoFundMe page.

Before her diagnosis, Ramirez's Instagram page was devoted to promoting body positivity and self love. Ramirez continues to spread those positive messages, as well as updating fans about her condition.

"Sometimes when I’m by myself in chemo, I’ll read comments and be a little bit happier. I get so many messages from women that have cancer telling me that seeing the way I do my makeup [inspires them]."

Ramirez already has plans for when she goes into remission, and they seem perfect for the fleeky cancer warrior. "After everything I’m going to volunteer at City of Hope," she says. "They have this program where you can teach cancer patients how to do their makeup, so I’m really excited about that."

Now that's a good look.

Guy pulls terrifying prank on neighbor's printer. It works amazingly well.

Twitter user Blake Messick pulled a pretty simple, seemingly obvious prank on his neighbor when he noticed that their new printer was on an unsecured network. But apparently, this neighbor isn't so tech-savvy, and fell for it HARD.

If you're doubting that anybody could be fooled by this, Messick has the proof.

And he was happy to take advantage.

Needless to say, Messick's tweet went viral. Everyone wanted in on the action.

But some people are convinced it's a hoax. After all, who could be that gullible?

But at least one commenter knows better.

When it comes to technology, people will believe anything. That's how Skynet is gonna get us.

Cancer survivor shows off mastectomy scars in inspiring Equinox ad campaign.

Mom and cancer survivor Samantha Paige won't let her double mastectomy stop her from living her best life (and being a total badass.) The cancer survivor is appearing in a new campaign for Equinox, scars and all.

So badass.

After Samantha Paige was diagnosed with thyroid cancer, she also tested positive for BRCA1 gene mutation, which meant she was at risk for becoming sick with other female-specific cancers. Since she had just had a baby she wanted be healthy to raise, Paige made the decision to preemptively get a double mastectomy.

“I didn’t want to keep going for MRIs and mammograms every three to six months — it was too unnerving and the risk seemed too great," she told People. “As a new mother, it felt very powerful to make the decision to not be waiting for a diagnosis, but to sort of flip that on its head,” Paige continued.

Paige says that she jumped at the chance to be involved in the "Commit to Something" campaign at Equinox.

"...I realized that we all know what matters most to us, and the next step is the action we take to stand up for those ideals and those beliefs and those values,” Paige told People. “Equinox’s message of ‘Commit to Something’ is about being able to look at yourself in the mirror and realize who you are and stand up to those values. It just dovetails with what I believe in.”

Samantha Paige also hopes that baring her mastectomy scars for all to see will inspire other women to be confident in their bodies.

“After coming to this place of loving my body and every scar, my goal is to influence, first of all, how my daughter feels about her body as a growing woman, and if it can influence another person to do the same, I feel as if I have done something beautiful,” she said.

Thanks for focusing on Mariah Carey's New Year's Eve behavior instead of mine.

Kim Kardashian posts cute home video footage of her family in her first social media post since robbery.

Kim Kardashian West has stayed off social media since being robbed at gunpoint in Paris in October (save one post that she almost immediately deleted). But on January 3, she posted a video to her app, a montage of home videos (well, videos taken with phones in her home, to be exact) of sweet moments that show the quieter side of life with her family—husband Kanye West and their two children, North, 3, and Saint, 1.

The video, set to a Jeremih song called "Paradise," shows scenes like the couple dancing together, Kanye interacting with daughter North, and baby Saint's first steps.

See? They actually do normal family things.

It's good to see Kim Kardashian and her family doing so well after all they've endured this past year, with the robbery in Paris and Kanye West's recent hospitalization. She may not return to social media with the enthusiasm and openness for which she was previously known, but it's nice to have her back.

Adorable mom can't handle it when sons surprise her with 'a little gift' worth a year's salary.

Daniel and Jason Knust saved up for 10 years to give their mom "a little gift to show her how much we appreciate everything she's done." That little gift was a brand new BMW, and after years of sacrificing for her children, mom was not ready to be on the receiving end.

"You know how for years you've wanted a BMW?

"Showing gratitude to our beautiful Mum who's worked so hard to give us everything in life. Compared to the sacrifices she has made for us over the years, this is nothing," Daniel writes.

Well, it wasn't nothing to his mom, who kept yelling "No no no! You cant do this to me."

Her inability to be on the receiving end is so strong that when she sees her BMW, she asks, "is that the one?"

The one with the giant red ribbon? Yeah, that one's yours.

And ultimately, she had it coming, according to her son Daniel.

"Hard work pays off," he writes, "and that's something our Mum taught us from a very young age that we'll never forget."

She deserves that car, but if it turns out she just CAN'T accept it, we know a few people who can.

Sorry your New Year's hangover lasted longer than your New Year's resolution.

Carrie Fisher's family is trying to hunt down the two medical professionals to who volunteered to help her when her heart stopped beating during a flight to LAX on December 23rd, 2016. She passed away four days later at UCLA Medical Center.

A source tells TMZ that Fisher's family wants to thank the two volunteers, one of whom is a nurse, who rushed to Fisher's aid when a flight attendant requested the assistance of any medical professionals on board after Fisher suffered a heart attack on the United flight.

The source says that the two unknown Samaritans "worked like crazy" on Fisher despite not being able to get a pulse for about 10 minutes. The family believes that if it were not for them, they would not have been given a few extra days to say goodbye to the Star Wars actress. The family is in contact with the airline to hopefully get the names of the two people who helped to prolong Fisher's life.

'Dying sick' customer orders delivery with an extra request, restaurant delivers.

A Belfast fish and chips shop went the extra mile (well, 1.6 kilometer in Europe) when a customer made a special request along with their delivery.

A sick person ordering from Feeley's Traditional Fish and Chips and Pizzeria asked the delivery person to make a pit stop for some cold medicine, which was really what they were going for.

And Feeley's delivered. Literally.

Fish and chips fans all over the world were in awe, wishing they were in Feeley's delivery radius.

The recipient of Feeley's good deed chimed in and got extra well wishes from her new friends.

Grateful for the press (and also from the goodness of their hearts), Feeley's is offering Fiona a free meal as soon as she gets her appetite back.

If you're in the Belfast area and need some cold medicine, you know what to do.

Guy tries to be a gentleman on first date, ends up getting ghosted.

Watching old movies is fun, but one Reddit user learned the hard way that studying them may not be the most effective way to become skilled in the art of romance. He recently shared a story on the TIFU (Today I F***ked Up, for those unfamiliar) subreddit of how his attempt to be a gentleman on a Tinder date resulted in getting ghosted by the girl... right in the middle of the date.

Let's dive in, shall we?

Our story starts out innocently enough. Self-proclaimed awkward guy gets a Tinder date.

I'm a very socially awkward person.

So when the numerous hours of back-and-forth chit chat with women on Tinder resulted in a first date I was ecstatic. We had matched a week or two back to my surprise and started talking about our personal interests; TV shows, movies, and what not. After my conversational cannon fodder of questions started to run dry, I decided "fuck it" and asked if she wanted to see Rogue One with me last Friday night. She said yes!

The night comes and I decide to start getting ready by picking out some nice looking clothes aside from the typical bullshit that I wear on a daily basis. Jeans, a white shirt, boots, and a nice jacket I'd received from my mother on Christmas. It was raining too so I grabbed an umbrella on my way out.

I get on the train and walk to the rendezvous. I wait 10 or so minutes and see her walking down the street. Nervous, I walk out into the rain with the umbrella to meet her. We shake hands, say hi to one another, and I ask if she's ready to head down to the movie theater. She says yes and off we go.

Because this is Reddit TIFU, you know something is going to go terribly wrong. Buckle in, folks. (And maybe turn on Singin' in the Rain to set the mood.)

Here's where it went south.

We're walking through the rain and come up to a big, water-filled street corner. I'm not sure whether it was nerves or my own lack of social skills which compelled me to do what I did, but I immediately stop and start to take off my jacket. Confused, she asks what I'm doing to which I reply, "I got this." She quickly realizes what I'm about to do and starts saying "Oh, you don't have t-".

I cut her off by throwing my jacket into this huge puddle expecting her to walk on it and onto the curb like you see in old movies/shows. The silence quickly makes me realize what I've done. I mutter out a "After you..." and she continues to stare at me.

Not exactly the smoothest move, but most people at this point might just laugh the awkwardness off and continue the date. Not this girl.

Without a word, she ghosts me on the spot. I pick my jacket up out of the puddle and make my walk of shame home.

Maybe next time.

Granted, ghosting the guy in the middle of the date was definitely an overreaction on the girl's part. But maybe it's time for this Reddit user to update the movies he takes his romantic inspiration from. Let's hope our friend will find love soon.

Snoring dog has priceless reaction to getting a taste of his own medicine.

0

This King Charles Spaniel puppy looks adorable, but once he falls asleep he sounds like an avalanche at a rock quarry. Sick of suffering alone, the dog's owner, Tal Solomon, decided to give him a taste of his own medicine.

That couldn't be me!

Yes. Yes it is you, snoring dog.

This is not the first time we've seen an act of immature revenge against a pet, but it is the first we've seen presented under the guise of trying to help.

Loudly playing a video of the snorer back to them, Solomon claims, is a fail-proof way to "get anyone to stop snoring."

And it probably is... for the duration that you are playing that video. But once they go back to sleep, we all know those snores are going to return.
