This teenager transitioned and inspired her parent to do the same.

When Corey Maison, now 15, was 11, she came out to her family as transgender and began socially transitioning to female, Cosmo reports. At the time, she probably had no idea how much her decision would positively impact her family.

Corey was born a "boy" (the sex assigned to her at birth), but after coming out to her family, she began socially transitioning to female.

In an interview with Australia's 60 Minutes, the teen said she was initially scared to tell her family. "I wanted to make my parents proud of who I am, but I thought that they would not like me,” she said.

Her family was supportive, which is wonderful, and—sadly—not always the case.

But wait, there's more!

Three years later the teen's mother, inspired by her daughter's transition, told the family that he is transgender and would be transitioning, too. "Erica" became "Eric."

Eric told 60 Minutes that he "hated being pregnant" and that he "used to wish for cancer so I would have to get a mastectomy." But his daughter's transition inspired him to come to terms with who he is. Since coming out as transgender, he has undergone a double mastectomy and said he's never been more comfortable with his body.

Here's a photo of the father/daughter duo now, taken by National Geographic:

"Sometimes our children lead the way," wrote National Geographic in the caption, adding: "They are moving in opposite directions but toward their true selves."

Eric also has the full support of his husband, Les, who said:

I fell in love with the person. She was beautiful as a woman, but equally beautiful on the inside. As long as Eric is happy with the appearance, Eric will be happy with what’s in her brain — or his brain.

"I have five beautiful children, I have an amazing husband and an amazing life," Eric added. "My life’s pretty good now. It’s awesome."

I wish all trans kids and parents could have such a positive experience coming out to their families. Kudos to the Maisons for showing us what family should be about.

Kylie Cosmetics accidentally sent customers empty highlighters, and people are freaking.

A philosophical thought experiment: If a new Kylie Cosmetics highlighter arrives in the mail, but there's no highlighter inside, did you really spend $22 on it?

Answer: Yes. And also, it's not a philosophical thought experiment, it's real life.

I cannot claim to understand why people flock to Kylie Cosmetics in the way that they do, but some of the brand's most loyal fans might be more reticent to purchase Kylie products after being sent empty boxes that were supposed to contain the new highlighter product. It's called Kylighter (see what they did there?) and every color of the illuminating powder compact is currently sold out online, which is to say: people were very hype about this product. And then, it arrived with no product in it! Cue the sobbing emoji.

This girl is able to have a sense of humor about it because she wasn't a victim:

Is it stealing? Well, not exactly. But it's definitely a huge mistake that the company will create a quality and customer service nightmare. One customer reached out to customer service after opening her empty box and later stated that she was being sent a replacement.

But it seems like this is not an isolated incident, which means they're going to have to do a lot of 'splainin'.

Some of the customers found some other shady stuff going on with their Kylighters. "Some of the boxes also included sketchy labels taped on top of the shade names to hide the words "First Date" underneath," Cosmopolitan reports. "First Date" isn't a Kylighter at all, it's the name of a limited edition blush shade that was released for Valentine's Day. What the heck was going on in that factory? Only time will tell.

Woman rejected by boyfriend on 'kiss cam' gets the perfect revenge.

Hey dudes and dudettes, if your significant other (or Dame Maggie Smith) tries to kiss you on a kiss cam, kiss them back. Unless they have reeeeeeeally bad onion breathe and even then, maybe just kiss them anyway because those are the kiss cam rules.

OR ELSE...

During a recent Atlanta Hawks game, the kiss cam captured someone refusing to follow the kiss cam rules. A guy was sipping his beer when the woman to his left—presumably his girlfriend but we don't know their deal!—went in for the kiss. And he was like:

"Sorry, I only want to kiss my one true love: beer."

So the woman in red turned to her left. And this moment happened.

"Hey, why not?"

And then.... she got her sweet revenge.

"Yeah, I deserve that."

SHE HAD NO OTHER CHOICE, GUYS, OK?! KISS CAM RULES.

You can watch the whole video here. Drama starts around 1:20:

I'll be honest, this looks staged. Especially when the guy in the red hat gets up and angrily walks away and his "girlfriend" doesn't go after him, which seems like a weird move on her part since she did just kiss another dude in front of him (even if he totally deserved it).

But whether this is "real" or not, the reality remains: always respect the kiss cam.

Rachel Maddow claims to have Trump's tax returns and people are losing it.

Rachel Maddow announced earlier tonight that she has Trump's elusive tax returns and will be airing them at 9pm on MSNBC.

Some are already skeptical of the phrasing that Maddow used in her tweet, as she said "Trump tax returns" versus something more specific like "Donald Trump's tax returns," which could mean she has Eric Trump's tax returns for all we know. Or, they could be business tax returns versus personal. Either way, it's risky to announce it as breaking news, so the news is likely to be something.

Here's how people are dealing with the anticipation and what they're hoping for the big reveal:

Trump's 2005 tax return was just revealed on MSNBC. Here's what we learned.

Rachel Maddow announced via Twitter earlier tonight that she had President Donald Trump's tax returns, and would be revealing them on MSNBC at 9pm. Immediately, people were speculating and freaking out.

David Cay Johnston, a Pulitzer prize-winning investigative journalist who specializes in tax issues, is the source by which MSNBC obtained the report. Specifically, Johnston received Trump's federal tax returns from 2005.

Maddow reported that the two-page 1040 report simply appeared in Johnston's mailbox earlier this week. "Donald creates his own reality," Johnston said when speculating that perhaps someone from Trump's team leaked the return themselves, a theory that surfaced in relation to previous Trump-related news leaks, like the nude photos of his wife Melania. And while we can't know how they appeared, we do know that the White House wasn't happy about the announcement.

The White House released a statement following Rachel Maddow's tweet that opens with, "You know you are desperate for ratings when you are willing to violate the law to push a story about two pages of tax returns from over a decade ago." It then went on to publish the numbers from the tax return ahead of Maddow's segment. Maddow made sure to clarify on air that the First Amendment allows them to release the tax return information, and Johnston further confirmed that journalists are legally allowed to receive anonymous tips.

Trump is the first president since the Watergate era to refuse to release his tax returns, The Atlanticreports. Presidents release their tax returns to show that they are in good financial standing and would not leverage their incredible position of power to for self-interest. Without knowing what Donald Trump's tax returns looked like, many feel they have no way of knowing whether Trump's decisions are affected by personal business endeavors. And that's why the public has been so adamant about their release.

So, what did we learn? Well, first of all that Rachel Maddow knows how to drag out a segment.

And ultimately, we learned that Trump paid $38 million in taxes, which is roughly 25% of his income. According to Johnston's own review of the information on The Daily Beast, Trump was still benefiting in 2005 from the net loss he reported in 1995 that surfaced during the campaign:

Trump’s 2005 return also shows that he’d continued to benefit from the roughly $916 million loss he reported in his 1995 return—published last year by The New York Times. Using a loophole Congress closed in 1996, Trump converted that loss into a tax credit for the same amount he could offset against income.

So, maybe this wasn't the bombshell everyone was hoping for. But hey, we learned a bit about the U.S. tax system in the process—just in time to finish up our own taxes.

Donald Trump woke up this morning and tweeted about Snoop Dogg. He's not happy.

On Wednesday morning, President Donald Trump opened Twitter and filed another 140 characters into the presidential record. Subject: Snoop Dogg. Category: Angry.

"Can you imagine what the outcry would be if @SnoopDogg, failing career and all," tweeted President Donald Trump of rapper Snoop Dogg, whose first solo album alone has sold over four million records, "had aimed and fired the gun at President Obama? Jail time!"

The tweet comes in response to Snoop Dogg's music video for his song "Lavender," in which "Snoop Dogg pulls out a fake gun and aims it at [a] Parody Trump," according to Billboard. The gun emits a "bang" flag instead of a bullet. The tweet also comes during a flurry of likely unwelcome (to Trump) discussion of new information on his tax returns.

The violent imagery in Snoop Dogg's video was roundly denounced, with Senator Marco Rubio even weighing in, according to the BBC, saying: "Snoop shouldn't have done that."

Mom goes viral with honest post about why she regrets breastfeeding.

Australian television star Maddi Wright opened up about why she regrets breastfeeding in a refreshingly honest Instagram she posted last Wednesday. The former House Rules star and her husband welcomed their second son Marlow back in October.

I wish I never breastfed my baby.
A strong statement and many would disagree but here's why... 3 weeks post stopping breastfeeding with my 4 month old I am a completely different person. I'm a better mum and better wife. I have more energy. I actually have gaps where bub is NOT on my body so I get to miss him a little. I have more time for my other son. I am more affectionate towards my husband. I don't dread going out in public. I enjoy my clothes again as I'm not leaking everywhere or having to wear uncomfortable maternity bras. I'm able to leave the house by myself without getting anxiety. I'm able to go to the gym again. I know I will cop alot of negative comments about this post but I think its important for mums to know that they have choices. There are so many different ways to be a mum. But what many mums forget is that MUM HAS TO BE HAPPY TOO.

Although Wright did experience some pushback from the post, the feedback from other women was generally overwhelmingly positive. Many mothers are lauding Wright for her honesty while talking about something that so many struggle with, but few discuss for fear that they will be "mommy shamed" for not "momming right" by other moms. Yeah, that's a thing.

"I so appreciate this post. I'm having a hard time breastfeeding and I think it's so true that it's not for everyone nor is it the easiest thing for everyone," posted one woman. "After being shamed the other day because I supplement with formula, this really spoke to me. Thank you!"

Another commented, "I breastfed over a year each time despite being past my limits to give and have just been diagnosed with depression. Fed is best and mom HAS to be ok too. I am still learning these lessons and applause to you for a little self-care."

Rachel Maddow released Donald Trump's tax returns and Twitter lost its mind.

In case you missed it—haha, just kidding, there's no way you missed it—Rachel Maddow released part of Donald Trump's 2005 tax returns on her show Tuesday night.

First, there was the buildup of excitement as Rachel Maddow talked…and talked…and talked and talked. Then, there was the slight letdown of there being only two pages of Trump's tax returns, and them being from over a decade ago. Still, something's better than nothing.

And throughout it all, Twitter reacted and reacted and reacted.

"I have completed treatment for alcohol addiction; something I've dealt with in the past and will continue to confront," wrote the Batmanactor.

"I want to live life to the fullest and be the best father I can be. I want my kids to know there is no shame in getting help when you need it, and to be a source of strength for anyone out there who needs help but is afraid to take the first step."

Ben Affleck's candid post earned him applause and congratulations in the comments section, and more broadly across the media for making his recovery in public—a process that's often shrouded in stigma. Here's some of the positive comments on Affleck's post:

This 'Star Wars' text prank will get your friends to stop constantly apologizing.

Michael Sana played a little text prank on his friend Allison that also doubled as educating his group chat on the legend of Dark Plagueis the wise of great Star Wars significance.

While baiting her into saying "sorry" with song lyrics, women (and Canadians) are known to frequently apologize, and this text prank is a great way to moderate use of the magic word.

This is not the word you're looking for.

It's an even more powerful tale when Palpatine tells it.

Allison almost went into a Force Rage.

Ivanka Trump just made a big change to her jewelry line.

It seems Ivanka Trump is trying to get in touch with the common people. The New York Times reports that Ivanka Trump's brand has discontinued its high-end line in order to focus on more affordable fashion jewelry.

While the fine jewelry line consisted of diamond bracelets, rings, and necklaces that would cost customers thousands of dollars apiece, the items in her fashion line are aimed at mass-market common folks like us, and will cost less than $100 each.

Abigail Klem, president of Ivanka Trump's brand, said in a statement to Vanity Fairthat the decision to discontinue the fine jewelry line is "part of our company's commitment to offering solution-oriented products at accessible price points."

"We will be focusing our efforts on existing and new categories that are most relevant to our loyal customers—including fashion jewelry, which successfully launched last fall with price points that are aligned with the rest of our collection," Klem continued. (She didn't mention anything about the companies that have recently decided to drop Ivanka's products.)

See guys? Ivanka Trump's brand is a brand of the people. She's just like us!

BBC Dad jokes that going viral will be 'the first line in my obituary.'

Professor Robert E. Kelly, henceforth known to the world as "BBC Dad," spoke to The New York Times about life after going viral.

BBC Dad broke the internet when his children broke into the room during his on-air interview, and the world instantly became obsessed with his fashionable, feisty, four-year-old daughter Marion.

Every day someone on the internet is launched into their 15 minutes of fame, and it's tough to imagine what life is like after suddenly being memed and GIFed and suddenly this interrupted interview was everywhere.

"This is now the first line in my obituary,” BBC Dad said during a press conference at Pusan National University in South Korea, where he is a political science professor.

He worried that this "comedy of errors" would mean he would never be invited on to be on TV again, but it just made him all the more popular.

“My real life punched through the fake cover I had created on television,” he told the Times, “This is the kind of thing a lot of working parents can relate to.”

Because the internet is the internet, commenters were accusing BBC Dad of abusing his daughter when he pushed her during the interview.

“I was not shoving Marion out of the way,” he said, “I was trying to slide Marion behind the chair because we have toys and books in the room,” hoping they would distract her.

BBC Dad opened up about his biracial family. He and his wife, Kim Jeong-ah, "rarely talk about race, he said, but they wonder whether their mixed-race children will face prejudice growing up in Asia."

“So far we haven’t gotten any flak,” BBC Dad told the times, and mentioned that his daughter is bilingual and doing well in Korean kindergarten.

He did express some anxiety about the sudden fame. “We have been buried in phone calls.” BBC Dad said that he had no "intention of cashing in on his newfound fame," explaining that "it would be unseemly to monetize" something that involves his kids

Oh, and he also settled another question:

“I was wearing pants,” he explained.

Woman bullied for skin disorder turns her body into a work of art.

Ashley Soto, the woman in these pictures, was diagnosed with a melanin disorder known as vitiligo when she was 12 years old. The disease causes skin to lose pigment in patches, varying in size and shape. Within a year, it had reportedly spread to 75 percent of her body. In an interview with the Daily Mail, the 21-year-old from Florida revealed that after being asked by another girl if she "showered with bleach" she covered up her skin out of embarrassment.

She told the Daily Mail,

I was so shocked that someone said that to me that I cried and cried, I didn't want to have the condition any more. It made me want to start hiding away from people and left me covering my skin, as I didn't want people to make fun of me.

But Ashley Soto says she learned to love her skin by outlining the patches of skin where pigment has been lost, turning her entire body into a work of art. Speaking to the Daily Mail, she said,

I never realized how beautiful my vitiligo was until I traced it with a black marker, it really helps to bring out the different colors of my skin. I was always trying to find a way to look at my skin in a positive light, I couldn't do that before starting this. Now what others would perceive as an imperfection I have made into something more beautiful and made it more accepted than before.

No longer shy about her condition, Ashley Soto tells the Mail,

I will continue creating different pieces of art with my skin and hope it inspires others in the process. Soon I will be doing some glow in the dark markings which will be a real challenge but it's very exciting. Thanks to doing this I've learned to accept myself more than I did before.

Here’s how your old mascara brush can have a second, adorable life at an animal shelter.

Everyone knows that mascara wands are a necessity for those who yearn for perfect lashes, but did you know they can also be used to help animals in need?

Savannah Trantham, co-founder of Appalachian Wildlife in Western North Carolina, posted on Facebook on Friday urging people to send her their old mascara brushes rather than tossing them out. Trantham and her staff upcycle the brushes to help remove fly eggs and larvae from the fur of the animals being rehabilitated at the refuge.

Check out the original post.

*UPDATE* I never thought when I was cleaning out my old makeup drawers and decided to share with my friends something...

Posted by Savannah Trantham on Friday, March 10, 2017

Did you know something as simple as an old mascara wand can help wildlife?!? We use mascara brushes to help remove fly eggs and larva from the fur of animals. They work great because the bristles are so close together!!

Do you have old mascara just lying around in a drawer? Know a makeup artist? Clean off those old wands in hot soapy water and we can put them to good use!

The post got an overwhelming response, and has been shared over 55k times.

And if you only clicked on this article to see a small animal get groomed with a tiny brush, you're in luck.

Confirmed: the only thing cuter than a baby animal is a baby animal getting brushed.

Plus, according to Shape, you should be replacing your mascara every 2-3 months anyway (yeah, okay), so you probably already have a few spoolies in your makeup bag that are ready to be retired. Just make sure the brushes are thoroughly cleaned with soap and water before sending them off— these animals want to be deloused, not given makeovers.

Clean brushes can be sent to:

John Legend offers advice for anyone whose partner has postpartum depression.

John Legend and Chrissy Teigen have a fun relationship (just watch them getting drunk at the Super Bowl), but they've dealt with some tough stuff, too. John Legend recently opened up about being there for his wife as she struggled with postpartum depression.

Chrissy Teigen recently went public in an essay for Glamour magazine about her experience with postpartum depression after she had her baby, Luna.

"I'm so proud of her," Teigen's husband John Legend told E! News. He said he hoped her essay would help other women who were struggling with the condition feel less alone. Legend went on to say:

By acknowledging the pain that she's going through, in doing that she also acknowledges the pain that a lot of women go through after they have a child. A lot of people don't want to talk about it. A lot of people feel alone when they're going through it and for her to let people know that they're not alone, I think was really powerful.

Teigen's essay details the physical and emotional pain she experienced after giving birth to her daughter. She wrote in the essay that after being diagnosed with postpartum depression, she began taking anti-depressants and opening up to loved ones, and she's on the road to recovery.

"Like anyone, with PPD or without, I have really good days and bad days. I will say, though, right now, all of the really bad days—the days that used to be all my days—are gone," Teigen wrote.

#flashbackfriday 💕

A post shared by chrissy teigen (@chrissyteigen) on

Obviously, John Legend is a big part of Chrissy Teigen's support system. He offered up some advice for other people whose partners might be going through postpartum depression.

"You have to be present. You have to be compassionate. You have to understand what the reasons for them feeling what they're feeling are," Legend told E! News. "I think once you know the reasons. I think you can be more helpful in identifying what they're going through."

These two are the definition of #RelationshipGoals.

Here's a clever Pi Day receipt joke you'll have to wait a whole year to plagiarize.

Tuesday was Pi Day, the best day of the year for math nerds.

http://www.someecards.com/pi-day-cards/pi-day-math-circle-friends-funny-ecard

Not to be mistaken for Pie Day, which is everyday, but Pi Day—March 14. It's the date that matches best with the mathematical symbol Pi, which is approximately the number 3.14, but in reality extends after the decimal point to infinity.

That brings us to a fun receipt joke you're going to want to copy the next time you go out to eat on Pi Day (if you're one of the aforementioned nerds). Recently shared on Reddit, someone signed their receipt like this:

You see what they did there?

They listed as many numbers of Pi as they could fit... and then very helpfully rounded up. Which was kind, because that way the server wouldn't be stuck trying to figure out how to tip-share an irrational number thanks to a dumb joke.

By the way, it would be a tragedy if this diner did not order pie.

Looking forward to holding your hair back when you get sick from drinking green beer.

To the cloth diapering mom: Fluffy bums are the cutest, and so friendly on the bank account. You're a good mom.

To the disposable diapering mom: Wow those things hold a lot, and it's excellent to not worry about leakage and laundry! You're a good mom.

To the mom who stays home: I can imagine it isn't easy doing what you do, but to spend those precious years with your babies must be amazing. You're a good mom.

To the mom who works: It's wonderful that you're sticking to your career, you're a positive role model for your children in so many ways, it's fantastic. You're a good mom.

To the mom who had to feed her kids from the drive thru all week because you're too worn out to cook or go grocery shopping: You're feeding your kids, and hey, I bet they aren't complaining! Sometimes sanity can indeed be found in a white bag with a big red chick on it. You're a good mom.

To the mom who gave her kids a homecooked breakfast lunch and dinner for the past week: Excellent! Good nutrition is important, and they're learning to enjoy healthy foods at an early age, a boon for the rest of their lives. You're a good mom.

To the mom with the kids who are sitting quietly and using their manners in the fancy restaurant: Kudos, it takes a lot to maintain order with children in a place where they can't run around. You're a good mom.

To the mom with the toddler having a meltdown in the cereal aisle: they always seem to pick the most embarrassing places to lose their minds don't they? We've all been through it. You're a good mom.

To the moms who judge other moms for ANY of the above?

Glass houses, friend. Glass houses.

The well-written celebration of all moms (that should get the Etsy poster treatment, ASAP!) went super viral, with over 45,000 likes and 61,000 shares.

Moms were moved to cheer her on and tag other mothers they know.
