Mom won't have it when newspapers crop her Olympic medal-winning son out of photo.

The proud mum of a British Olympian was rightfully pissed off when her son was cropped out of newspaper stories celebrating his own win.

Daniel Goodfellow, the synchronized diving partner of the equally hot and talented (but more famous) Tom Daley, won bronze in the men's 10m platform event in Rio.

The Daily Mail and The Daily Telegraph forgot his face, and The Times just referred to him as "Daley and sychronised partner."

The Daily Express was more like "The Daley Express" (hehe get it?).

Goodfellow's mum, Sharon Goodfellow, was pissed that her son was missing.

The proud mum was thanking people for their support of Dan.

She even thanked Daley himself for supporting her son.

The Internet agrees that shunning Goodfellow was unfair and dumb, and she thanks them for the support.

Meanwhile, Goodfellow is not concerning himself with his lack of media coverage—he's basking in his glory, as he should.

Women's Olympic rugby player Isadora Cerullo of Brazil ended yesterday's game in tears. And not because of her team's performance (they placed ninth), but because her girlfriend proposed to her on the field in Rio. Spoiler: she said si.

What sports game?

Cerullo’s long-term girlfriend, Majorie Enya, a manager at the Deodoro Stadium, delivered an emotional speech on the field Monday night before proposing, as fellow team members and onlookers cheered, BBC reported.

Cerullo, 25, and Enya, 28, have been together for two years.

“As soon as I knew she was in the squad, I thought I have to make this special,” said Enya. “I know rugby people are amazing and they would embrace it.”

Sorry to all the players who got gold medals, but this couple were yesterday's winners.

Not only is Chris Mosier the first transgender athlete to make the U.S. Olympic men'steam, but he is also the first transgender athlete to appear in a Nike commercial, so yeah. He's basically breaking ground all over the place these days.

Mosier began his transition in 2010, and joined the men's national team as a duathlete in 2015. This is his first Olympics.

"Being the first trans man on a U.S. men's national team was a dream come true for me," Mosier told Nike. "It's just such an amazing opportunity—and an amazing opportunity for other people to see themselves reflected in someone succeeding in sports as a trans man."

The commercial first aired on Monday night, and will continue to air throughout the coverage of the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio. According to Outsports, Mosier is the only out trans athlete competing in the Olympics this year.

Who wants to guess the name of Holly Madison's new baby boy?

Holly Madison, former Hugh Hefner girlfriend turned author/Vegas person, recently gave birth to her second child with husband Pasquale Rotella. Madison and Rotella already have a three-year-old daughter with the uniquely celestial name Rainbow Aurora.

The parents have yet to reveal the name of the "healthy 8-pound, 14-ounce baby boy," but you can safely assume it won't be "Tom" or "Juan" or some other easy, monosyllabic, classic name like that.

"I don't really like normal names," Madison told People. "We have a few finalists."

Perhaps she's thinking "Rainbeau," the obvious male version of her daughter's name. That would definitely not be normal. Then of course the middle name would have to change, so for his full name, how about—Rainbeau Hugh Rotella.

That's beautiful.

Seth Rogen finally reacts to Katherine Heigl saying 'Knocked Up' was sexist 8 years ago.

In an interview with Howard Stern on Monday, Seth Rogen said Katherine Heigl’s past comments about Knocked Upcaught him off-guard. It's not the first time he's been asked about it, and not the first time Hollywood has said Heigl is difficult to work with. However, her remarks are from quite a long time ago. In a 2008 story for Vanity Fair, when asked about it directly, Heigl said that the movie was a "little sexist," and:

...paints the women as shrews, as humorless and uptight, and it paints the men as lovable, goofy, fun-loving guys. It exaggerated the characters, and I had a hard time with it, on some days. I’m playing such a bitch; why is she being such a killjoy? Why is this how you’re portraying women?

Rogen stressed that he enjoyed working with Heigl, and said he felt Judd Apatow's process would've allowed her to speak up if she didn't like her character's direction during filming:

I thought we had a great dynamic, people seemed to like it, we were funny together, I was having a really good time, and then when I heard afterwards that she didn’t like it, that she seemed to not like the process, and she did not like the end product either. I think when that happens – also your trust feels somewhat betrayed. We have a very open process. We’re like, ‘You have the ability to say anything at any moment. I don’t like how I’m coming across here.’

It should be noted that Heigl didn't bring it up herself, and also said this about her role and the movie in her Vanity Fair interview:

Ninety-eight percent of the time it was an amazing experience, but it was hard for me to love the movie.

Seems like the whole thing was blown out of proportion. And if Howard Stern wants to kick a hornet's nest with Heigl or Rogen, he could bring up any number of their other questionable films, including 27 Dresses and The Green Hornet, respectively.

Kim Kardashian lost so much weight that her stylish choker doesn't fit her neck anymore, she said on Snapchat. She says it's a "real problem." Oh, to be a Kardashian and have your "real problems" be jewelry related.

Another real problem is that she's been experiencing neck pain! Hopefully she hasn't been sleeping in that choker! Luckily, the Kardashians can employ the finest in Eastern medicine to fix that issue, including acupuncture and cupping.

So if her latest neck accessory is bruises, you'll know why.

Italian police cook pasta for lonely elderly couple who were sad about the state of the world.

In news that will make you want to call your grandparents ASAP, police in Rome, Italy showed up at the apartment of an elderly couple last week after reports of crying. Turns out, 84-year-old Jole and her 94-year-old husband Michele had been watching TV and crying about the state of the world (we've all been there!) and feeling lonely (also been there), BuzzFeed reports. The cops called an ambulance to check up on the couple, and while they waited, they cooked them a pasta dinner.

The cops, proud of their good deed, shared the story and photos on the agency's Facebook page.

The post has been shared hundreds of times, and many people have commented to thank the officers and share concern for the couple, who have been married 70 years and said they did not receive many visitors.

Like Steve N Kay Jerkins, who wrote:

Very nice! This is what it's all about! This happens more than we know; we just hear about the bad things in life, which are a small percentage of reality. All media needs to focus more on the good of mankind, rather than the negative that does not deserve the attention we give it!

We're doing our best, Steve!

Now everyone, go call your grandparents, or visit your elderly neighbors, or hug the guy in the cubicle next to yours. Life can be a lonely road, let's all have some pasta.

Thank goodness this guy is here to mansplain riding a bicycle to an Olympic cyclist.

Over the weekend, an Olympic cyclist from the Netherlands named Annemiek van Vleuten was involved in a serious crash while she was competing in the women's road race. Later that day, she posted this tweet stating that she is thankfully okay, just disappointed that the best race of her life was cut short. (She was on her way to the gold medal.)

While most of the responses she received were from supportive fans wishing her well, of course there was one dude out there who thought Annemiek needed some unsolicited advice on riding a bicycle.

Oh! You're supposed to try and keep your bike steady?! Thank goodness we cleared that up.

Surely the woman on her way to becoming the world's best female cyclist is extremely grateful there are men out there to tell her how to do the thing she does professionally, while she recovers from a terrible accident.

What a service to the world this man is doing! Thank you so much for your help, sir.

What exactly does Rio think Olympic athletes are going to do with their toilets?

Elena Delle Donne is a player on the U.S. Women's basketball team, and she posted a hilarious bathroom sign from the Olympic Village on Sunday. The sign requests that athletes don't throw waste paper in the toilet. That's a simple instruction, and the sign also has an image depicting that request. But it also has five other images demonstrating what not to do with the toilet, each stranger than the last:

Guess I won't be toilet fishing today 😒

No fishing in the toilets. And no breakdancing or peeing like a dog with its leg lifted up either.

Here's how far $100 goes in each state: $87 in New Jersey is worth $114 in Arkansas.

$
0

It's something you've probably already guessed if you live there, but $100 doesn't get you very far in D.C., Hawaii, or New York. In Mississippi, Arkansas, or Alabama, on the other hand, $100 is a relatively princely sum. The federal government is now tracking these differences in purchasing power, and The New York Timesmade a nifty map showing how much $100 in each state is worth compared to the national average.

Lighter, more yellow colors means that $100 is worth closer to $85...

And darker, bluer colors means that $100 is worth more like $115.

Californians pay a lot more than people in neighboring states do...

But not as much as Hawaiians.

As the Times explains:

To better understand, imagine a store offering a range of goods and services, each for sale at the national-average price for that particular item. Now, imagine a shopping cart filled with $100 worth of items from that store.

In Hawaii, $100 buys about 85 percent of the goods in the cart thanks to the high prices there. In other words, $100 in Hawaii feels more like $85.60, compared to the national average.

In Mississippi, the opposite is true. With $100, you would be able to buy the cart’s contents and more: the equivalent of $115.30 of goods and services from the national-average store.

Or, in terms we can understand, it's thriftier to run up a bar tab in Atlanta than Los Angeles.

Single Olympics tweet shows how the male gaze works.

$

The male gaze is alive and well. All you need to do is look to the 2016 Olympics coverage, captured perfectly in this tweet...

Janice Loreck, a Teaching Associate in the School of Media, Film and Journalism at Monash University, describes the "male gaze" as...

"The 'male gaze' invokes the sexual politics of the gaze and suggests a sexualised way of looking that empowers men and objectifies women. In the male gaze, woman is visually positioned as an 'object' of heterosexual male desire. Her feelings, thoughts and her own sexual drives are less important than her being 'framed' by male desire."

So this photo, showing the athleticism of the female athletes in action, is an accurate portrayal of the intent of the two athletes.

Actual photo of female athletes being athletes.

Whereas this photo screams Look at that one ladies butt!!

Actual photo of female athletes being sexualized.

Of course, there is some evidence that all humans are simply terrible.

Naked dating show contestant horrifies prudish internet with description of her own vagina.

There is now a naked dating show from the UK called "Naked Attraction," because it's 2016 and reality is an acid trip. On the August 8 episode, a contestant said something about her own vagina that was somehow shocking to viewers despite the fact that they were watching a naked dating show.

Mother-of-two Tracy was forced to strip down during the final round of surveying her choices of naked men, when she told the host “I think mine looks like a beef sandwich."

People on Twitter had a wide range of reactions, from appalled to...more appalled.

Some even decided to make dietary changes.

While others swore off the show altogether.

People who tuned in to watch a naked reality show sure have a low tolerance for genital/food analogies! Also, this isn't the first time someone has compared the female anatomy to a sandwich. Maybe we all need to relax and admit vaginas and sandwiches, which are both great, bear a slight resemblance.

'Sexturizing' is a hot new hair trend that makes you look like you just got laid.

This summer's hottest new hair trend involves looking like you just got laid without actually having to go through all the hassle of getting laid. So you can finally cancel your Tinder account, because "sexturizing" is what you were after all along.

"No matter what kind of hair type you have, it's all about imperfection that doesn't lay flat—it's sexy, messy, and piece-y texture that moves," explains hairstylist Kat Zemtsova, who coined the term "sexturizing." "It's basically the antithesis of stiff waves or sausage curls."

#TBT Maybelline glam look by @bimpeonakoya 💋

A photo posted by Jourdan Dunn (@officialjdunn) on

There are apparently two ways two achieve this look (neither involve being nude with another person):

1) Simply boost your natural texture with a styling product that mimics the effects of sexy sex-sweat. "On clean, wet hair, you can mist on a waves spray, then tousle it as it air dries," says Zemtsova. "On days-old hair, a dry texture spray on the mids to ends will give you the grit without making the hair feel sticky or crunchy."

kisses x 19m = thank you for everything xx

A photo posted by Gigi Hadid (@gigihadid) on

Or 2) Use hot tools, specifically a larger barrel curling iron to create waves of different sizes. "I usually use two different size barrels to achieve 'sexture,'" says Zemtsova.

All this talk of hot tools and barrels might make you feel a little frisky, but don't even think about having sex. Right now you need to focus your time and energy on looking like you did.
