Shia LeBeouf has announced a new project called "He Will Not Divide Us"— an anti-Trump instillation at the Museum of the Moving Image in Queens, New York. IndieWire is reporting that LeBeouf has collaborated with Nastja Säde Rönkkö and Luke Turner for the interactive exhibit that will commence at 9 a.m. on January 20, 2017 and continue through the duration of Donald Trump's presidency. You can watch the live stream here.
The public is invited to come to the museum, stand in front of the camera and deliver the words "He Will Not Divide Us" as many times as they feel necessary. The exhibit will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and the live stream will be running non-stop for the next four (or however many) years. Jaden Smith, Will Smith's 18-year-old son, was one of the first to participate.
"The mantra ‘HE WILL NOT DIVIDE US’ acts as a show of resistance or insistence, opposition or optimism, guided by the spirit of each individual participant and the community," reads the video description.
This isn't Shia LeBeouf's first immersive art project. Last year, Shia LeBeouf locked himself in an elevator for 24-hours and allowed fans to ride with him and ask questions. In 2015, he headed a project called #TOUCHMYSOUL where he fielded phone calls from strangers. Prior to that, LeBeouf screened and watched all of his movies for three days straight while live streaming his reactions.
